While a lot of people might envy games journalists for being paid to play and talk about games, very few actually respect the profession. And they are right. More than any other sector of journalism, sites routinely don’t source or miss-source, something that fundamentally damages any hope the industry has at growing and becoming more aggressive with investigative journalism. - PSLS
For better or worse, we're in a world where nearly anyone can just buy a URL, download some blogging software, and start typing up news and reviews with no credentials at all. Then suddenly they're raking in hits from bombastic headlines, baseless rumors, "reviews" of games they have not even cleared half of, and opinion pieces parading as facts. It really ruins everything for the few guys who actually did take some journalism classes and who actually are pretty good writers >_<
