Amazon UK has undercut rivals with the price of the new 12GB version of the smaller and lighter PS3. (PS3)

And the price war begins. Having no RRP was a sterling move and one that will pay dividends as we approach Christmas.

"This price also puts the 12GB PS3 dangerously close to the 4GB version of the Xbox 360, which is priced at around £140."

I liked the 'dangerously close' bit...sounds exciting & good choice of words

This is why Sony was smart with the price. Didn't release an "official" price cut because MS would have been right there the next day cutting their price.

Instead they just let the retailers sell it at their own price. Expect A LOT more deals and sales on PS3 after Black Friday.

I'd still buy the original slim over this one
