Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate footage and screens captured

Joystiq writes:

"If you're at New York Comic-Con this week, you can try out Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U at Capcom's booth. Even if you're nowhere near New York, you can see what it looks like in this new media. It looks ... a lot like a port of a Wii game." (3DS, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Wii U)

bring on the inevitable "The graphics look crappy" comment, followed by the "This is not a game built from the ground up for the Wii U, it's a 3DS game ported over with higher resolution textures"..

You just stopped me from posting the inevitable when I read that it is a port

Looking good. Was originally gonna skip this and just buy MH4 for 3DS. But I may have to reconsider, if I decide to buy a Wii U ofcourse

I've loved Monster Hunter since the PS2 days...& felt it was perfect for the PSP. I am very disappointed at Capcom for taking one of my favorite franchises & putting it on consoles I can't see myself investing in just for MH & Zelda!

This game & the 4th title coming up should be on the PSVita & PS3!! PC would be a dream (Frontier doesn't cut it), definitely since I'm mainly a PC gamer, but I can look past that.

Sadly, I won't be able to play MH until one of the above happens!

Yeah, im surprised they wont port it over to the other consoles.

Much of tri was "ported" to the psp in MHP3RD. This game included all the weapons absent from tri, more new monsters and a different village with a separate story, while lacking underwater combat. THIS game was then ported to the PS3 with a slight graphic upgrade.

So, why haven't you heard of them then? Japan only, due to contentions between Sony and capcom over changes Sony allegedly demanded with no support given and no leeway.

This game is the 3ds/wiiu upgrade of tri, with added p3rd content and all weapons available(AND underwater combat) This is made possible because of Nintendo's support of the franchise over seas, publishing the original tri and delivering the online servers for wiiu tri Ultimate.

The franchise is now mainly a Nintendo franchise because Nintendo made amicable deals and fostered a strong relationship with capcom, while Sony deliberately or not shrugged them off.

i wish wii u would HD & remaster MH4 instead of this ancient wii title
Perjoss  +   964d ago
Ancient? You have been misinformed sir.
ronin4life  +   964d ago
It has 50% more content and all the weapons excluded from tri.
DivineAssault  +   964d ago
ya well to each his own.. not interested in this at all.. MH4 on 3DS has my attention but Soul Sacrifice will mop the floor with both of these titles so idk.. we will see who earns my $40 in march

I love monster hunter. I played on the psp and also played online on the ps2. I was even there when Capcom shut the servers down. Back when the ps3 was just a rumor I always hoped I'd get nex gen versions of Socom, Killzone, Monster Hunter, and Battlefield.

Well i got a half assed version of Socom, Very nice Killzone sequels, awesome battlefields, and NO MONSTER HUNTER.

I feel kind of betrayed......how does every system have one except ps3..? Imagine the possible scale of a Monster Hunter developed for ps3...... :(

Oh well....rant over.

This would be the first Monster Hunter i buy, it looks great!!!
ThanatosDMC  +   964d ago
If you have a Wii, you can buy MH Tri-G and have the same game.
ronin4life  +   964d ago
Monster hunter triG was the Japanese version of this. The original, monster hunter tri was a Wii game with less content and fewer weapons.

Simply put: this is NOT a Wii port, but an upgrade of the base Wii/3ds game, complete with better graphics and loads more content.
Rockoman16  +   964d ago
Well, yeah, it kinda sounds like a good idea, but i think i will get this new version, it looks better tho

Looks like i'll be getting a Wii U come March 2013.

Hmm
Wii U is slowly winning me over! Not getting it launch day but I just might be getting one, especially if the online is free.
