GotGame: Preview | Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the Wii U is Legit

GotGame: Well all that is about to change with next month’s release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Yes the game is coming out for the previously mentioned consoles, but it too is coming to the Nintendo Wii U. After having played the game at a demo session earlier this week, I can safely say that what Activision has in store for Nintendo fans, is most definitely a legit COD experience.

Guess Wii U is going to be the best for at least a year and a Half. Till Nextbox and PS4 come out. That should give Nintendo some time to kick butt!

Unless the casuals buy again then ps4/720 will own. Nintendo never & I mean NEVER is the best at core gaming. When was the last time they sucessfully did on a console? N64?

WiiU version is not even dx11 like the pc version.

The Gamecube was a monster of a console, actually. And Nintendo has offered plenty of core gaming experiences with the Wii this generation, but the problem is that the Wii had pretty lackluster third party support.

GameCube was Amazing! Are you kidding me? I wont buy Xbox, because in due time the 1st party games come out on PC and I Update my PC all of the time, as to keep it as fast as possible. If you have read the reports PS4 could be at least 16 months away... Hence me saying For the next year and a half Nintendo is going to be amazing. You know the ones who Disagree are just jealous, because they talked so much smack about the Wii U, they are too ashamed to buy it. Anyway, im interested to see how the killstreaks work with the gamepad in single player online/campaign. I want to control the Predator (or similar) on GP screen as though it were the Laptop/Arm screen (in game), that would be sweeeet.

I would not bet on it. To marketers and stuff HD, full HD, high def, those all mean the same thing. Just happened with NSMBU, Nintendo's website said 1080p but then they took it down after realizing the mistake.

people can cry and hate on wii-u all they want.I know next month I'm going to get to play c.o.d in full 1080p at 60fps on my HDTV on a console for the first time ever.

and I don't have to wait over a year to do it. and I wont have to pay 500 to 600 hundred dollars to do it.

plus this version will have everything the others do but will have the best HD resolution and extra gamepad features.

Must suck for Sony. They couldn't get CoD to run smooth on PS3 if their lives depended on it and with one shot got it running like a beast in the Wii u. Guess it's the PS3's lackluster hardware.

i seriously think ninty just got the timing wrong with the gamecube. the gcn was indeed a beast, and it was specifically tailored for the hardcore. sega noted that no other machine (AT THE TIME OK) could pull of the graphics of f-zero at 60fps, silicon knights (back when they were good)(eternal darkness/mgs twin snakes also said these technical achievments were only possible on gamecube. capcom (and i rest my case here) said that the resident evil remakes of "0&1" could only be on gamecube, then shinji mikami while trying to push the hardware to its limits. put the icing on the cake when he made resident evil 4. not sure why he couldnt fit the ada missions but when the game got ported to the ps3 it was obvious which machine had the more power. i wouldnt seriously have supported the wii but why no one supported the gamecube. ill never know. oh and the water of mario sunshine is still better then any water in any game. almost drank the freakin thing. youtube it in hd though.

The Gamecube is the definition of Core Gaming man, that was Nintendo's strategy, 4 controller ports, low $199 price point, some of the best first-party/exclusive titles of the gen(The Legend of Zelda WW and TP, Super Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros. Meelee, F-Zero, MGS Twin Snakes, Resident Evil 4, Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos Series, Pikmin 1 and 2, DK Jungle Beat, Super Monkey Beat, Batallion Wars, TimeSplitters, Metroid Prime, etc.), and not to mention, a kickass ergonomic controller, and the WaveBird!

Gamecube. Probably one of the hardest core gaming consoles ever. If only Nintendo made it with standard Discs and made the design more appealing to third party developers hoping to sell games on it, it would've competed with PS2 (Many people often mention how the lack of third party game sales on the system could be because of it's design that lured people away. At least that's what I heard.

why not? after 2-3 months I would say that 2-3 million Wii U's will be sold at least. In that time I could see 1 million Black Ops 2 units selling on the Wii U. That's a lot of players to play online with. Seeing that you only play with like 16 players online at a time, I think it's more than enough. You just won't have those wanna-be 12 year old gangsters who think they run the show even though they have to get their Mommy to take them down to the mall. I can do without them and their poop mouths.

although thats saying the wii u is still going to be seen as a casual magnet or child magnet in other words you will instead of 10 year olds 6,7 year olds will be there instead. just saying the wii u is going to be family orientated just how the 360 is trying to be. so i do not think that escape is that easy. on another note congradulations nintendo for becoming core friendly for this generations gamers.

Wasn't a fan of the lunch-box design w/handle...didn't mind the color...also would've liked full sized DVDs. Software was awesome though.

O lovley, were are all the haters now, why would you not want COD in 1080.
I do and i cant wait to get it , and to be honest the ps3 could not run this game properly and the wiiU can do it out of the box in no time while just ticking over,, o yea the wiiU is powerfull you better beleive it haters.
