Analysts: Short January Yields Modest Sales

Kris Graft of Next-Gen reports that Analysts expect January US videogame sales to be down to up slightly, mainly due to a shorter retail month.

Ahead of official NPD US software data, analyst Colin Sebastian with Lazard Capital Markets said in a Monday investor note that software sales will be "flat to up slightly," primarily because January's retail calendar is only four weeks this year versus five weeks last year.

The simExchange expects hardware sales of 403,000 units for Wii and 460,000 for DS. The Xbox 360 is expected to take the runner-up spot at 289,000 units and the PS3 to place third again at 200,000 units," Divnich wrote.
