GameSpot: "By focusing on strong character development and beautiful locales, Fable: The Journey provides an engaging adventure enhanced by satisfying motion controls."
IGN, EGM, OXM and now Gamespot saying this is a great. Hater will hate because its in their blood but im going to just give this a try at some point
Sure that is the best thing to do. Make sure and ignore every bad thing said about a game then hopefully it will go away.Turn a blind eye to what everyone else is saying an pick and choose what you want to hear. They aren't haters. They are just reviewers that don't agree with what you think. Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself not us.
But what if its honestly not that bad? I haven't played it yet but from what i got from the demo it works well and from what ive seen in the walkthrough yes the beginning is sort of like a horse rideing simulator but when your useing a device whose main factor in how it works depends on the player and his interpretations of the required setup and gestures then yea a long tutorial and calibration levels could help Honestly from what ive read and what ive seen and played the game seems to work fine despite what a all these reviewers are saying. I'm kind of going by the metacritic scores seince most of them are mixed and possitive (even IGN gave it a 7.2) and my own personal opinion gathered from research and actully playing the game for myself. Also have you noticed that while this is one of the major kinect titles even though the first reviews were possitive there was so much hate comeing at this game i mean shouldent a good score be a good thing to people to like or hate the device?
No offence but if you are going to take the scores then really look at the average score. Just because a few rate a game highly doesn't mean they are right and others are wrong. It is how averages work and why they are generally quite reliable. The game is getting an average of 60 atm on metacritic. Also if you read the EGM (I think they are the ones who gave it a 9)the review doesn't match the score and the score seems to be based on it is a great story even though they say it is really boring to play. Which is why you should read reviews instead of looking at scores because sometimes they do not match up (I have also seen positive reviews given oddly low scores)
Look at the Critics score, The result is important :) .
It's not hate just because you decide not to accept the flaws a game has. You decipher it as hate because it doesn't agree with your view of the game. But the people who reviewed it badly have no personally vendetta against the game. They just said they don't like it and gave their reasons. Now that doesn't mean that you can't form your own opinions or views on the game or buy it anyway but you can't simply dismiss someone's view or opinion because you don't like how it sounds. I listen to both sides before I buy a game and don't simply ignore the bad stuff because it is money I am spending on it. Suppose i buy it only to find out the people saying the bad stuff are right. You can playing it buy and do what ever you want but it is very immature to simply dismiss someones opinion just you don't like how it sounds. This is not the first time a Kinect game has been accused of non functionality by both reviewers and gamers and you can't just accuse everyone of 'you are not doing it right'. Besides if you read the reviews the problem is not just the functionality. It's the game itself.
