"Vault hunting can be a very arduous task, and the shortcomings of the original Borderlands had me unsure of what to expect for Borderlands 2. While I liked the first Borderlands, I never quite got sucked in like many other gamers I know. I had friends who spent hours grinding the DLC and trading with other people over Xbox Live to find that end-all-be-all gun that would dominate like nobody’s business, but because I typically play single player experiences, Borderlands 1 was sluggish and required a whole lot of forcing myself to stick with it just to get through it. Fortunately, not only did Gearbox listen to what critics of the original Borderlands had to say, they listened to what fans said too. The hype train became HUGE for Borderlands 2, including something like a 4 hour wait to play it at PAX Prime, which happened just a few weeks before the game was released to retail. When it was all said and done, did Borderlands 2 live up to the hype?" (Borderlands 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 9.3/10
