I Hate To See You Go, But I Love To Watch You Leave.

There are however other parts to gaming that have remained in place, certainly for the vast majority of my gaming life. It's only in the last gen or two that some of these have started to be phased out. For instance, games have always been something that when purchased, you had something physical to take away with you. The increasing push to download games from XBLA, Steam and PSN could potentially see actual copies of games become a thing of the past, when the next gen arrives.

So here's a few other gaming related mainstays that have either disappeared or are on the verge of vanishing. Some will be missed, others less so.

after having to download 16GB to play DC Universe and not to mention the huge patchs, DLC and the space it all took from my HDD I can say that DD ONLY is not the future. We first need better bandwidth and way bigger HDDs without breaking the bank before we can say that DD will completely replace discs.

The HDD space for DCU was absurd. I can't realistically see a future where there aren't more than one option like there is now. It will be a while, or never before it's DD only.

Downloading a game will never be as satisfying as opening up a case for the first time. LOL

Running back and forth like a soccer team, cold as a winters day,hot as a summers eve, young money thieves still you love and leave.

DLC needs to go and be replaced with Expansion packs like the good 'ol days. At least there was value back then. Give us more content, less fluff.

Don't charge me 5 dollars for a coat for my character in a game or a weapon pack that should have been included, but wasn't because you couldn't make development time...

And I agree that we do need bigger storage drives. That is oh so clear if they want to actually get away with the digital download model. Frankly, I would always rather have the tangible disc than some download file.
