XCOM: Enemy Unknown Review - JPS

"Back in the early 1990s, one of the strategy games that made the genre famous was Mythos’ UFO: Enemy Unknown. With it’s deep tactical gameplay and customization, many fans of the genre immediately fell in love with it, hailing the game as one of the best. Almost two decades following its release, Firaxis has remade the classic game under the semi-new title XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which offers brand new visuals that take advantage of the technology available now, giving this generation a chance to play a classic they may have missed." - JPS (PC, PS3, Xbox 360, XCOM: Enemy Unknown) 9.2/10

I am really enjoying this game.

Just a friendly tip:

There doesn't seem to be an auto save function here so if you don't want to lose soldiers that you have put a lot of time into upgrading, save and save often. At least before you leave the HQ or when you hit the battlefield.

there is an option to turn on auto Save.

also the best part of Xcom is the fact you can lose your soldiers..... many times i've wanted to reload, but where is the fun in that!!!

I was unaware there was an autosave.

Thanks for the info.

According to some review sites, it's almost expected to NOT win in the end....I guess I am just paranoid that I will lose soldiers that I have put so much time and effort in.

Yeah it's more impacting and therefore more meaningful that you can lose troops

Played the demo and bloody good it was too. This could be my personal game of this year so far

LV up... go to the barracks (sp?) and ther should be a Officer Trainning school or something like that.. you can buy some perks that will help level up characters quicker.. its also a good idea to bring a couple Rookies each mission just so when you lose a VET... you have someone with a bit of experience...

I played the demo and fell in love with it straight away! I personally dont like paying full price for a game digitally but after that demo I just had to pre-load it on Steam as I just want it on Midnight on the dot!
