Don reviews the next evolution of the Tritton AX 720, the Tritton 720+.
Scoring any Tritton headset a 5 out of 5 just tells me you need to try more headsets. Well-written review, though.
Admittingly, I have used a small allotment of headsets. But after sitting down, writing the review, and thinking about it, I went with a 5/5 because it really is a nice piece of hardware, especially at the price. If we did half-points, I would have given it a 4.5/5, but I figured it deserved the "free" 0.5 points. Thank you for the compliment though. :)
I can't see giving a Tritton a 5 out of 5, either. Their sound quality is good but not great, their build quality is just terrible (Tritton is Mad Catz, after all), and there are much better headsets on the market. That said, by your own account, you haven't tried a ton of headsets, and a review has to come from your experience and your experience alone. With that in mind, I understand and respect the score, even though I disagree with it.
Or you could buy a $134.97 Sony Pulse headset. Less cords and only needs a dongle. The rumble feedback of the pulse is awesome and you can change how much bass boost you want. Shoot mode has the strongest bass and it's incredible. http://www.newegg.com/Produ...
I'll only give 4/5 max. as this is only simulated surround sound. For true surround sound, go for the Tritton AX Pro or Pro+. These are true 5/5 headsets! I'll be upgrading from my Creative Recon 3D to the Tritton Pro+ soon.
