I would buy any console, three times to finish, Shining Force III in English!
I didn't know it was meant to be a trilogy when I first completed it, just thought it was a rubbish ending. When I found out, well I'm still annoyed I never got to see the end to the story.
Reading translated scripts about where all the forces join together to fight off the vandals just isn't the same as playing through it.
lets go back even further into the Sega archives. why there isnt a new version of Hang on is really strange. I also like some of their other arcade titles like thunder blade, galaxy force and space harrier.
there has been an update to space harrier called planet harriers and was rumored to have been in development for the DC before that plug was pulled.
Odd that sega hasnt even done a simple port of the virtua cop series for the wii. That seems like a perfect fit. they did put la machine guns and gunblade ny on wii as a double pack. yeah the games were cheesy but still, it was good to have them.
@jallen, yeah it is such a shame the shining series didnt continue on in the US after III. The others were even more intricate in the story (if you could follow in JP).
Oh well, at least they did bring out afterburner climax which is a nice upgrade to the original. sad they lost their license to Ferrari otherwise we would have a newer outrun game by now. At least...i think that is what happened.
Burning Rangers would be awesome. It's a Sega IP, produced by Sonic Team (just like NiGHTS), so there shoudn't be any licensing issues.
The only problem is that it's too much of an obscure cult classic. Most people have never heard of it, and probably wouldn't buy it. NiGHTS is more mainstreeam, but if you read the reviews, people who never played the original aren't really liking the HD remake. They just don't understand the concept.
Burning Rangers was a technological marvel during the Saturn era, but that wouldn't mean anything to most people today.
You have a solid point. I guess us old-school sega gamers have different eyes, maybe it's that arcade feel to all sega games that we're used to. I was the only kid in my neighborhood back in the day who had a sega saturn, everyone had playstation and n64. I miss the 90's bro.
The complete trilogy of Shining Force III would be brilliant. I knew that it wasn't complete when it came over, but I still got it anyways. Fantastic way to spend 40 hours of one's life, it's a great game.
Skies of Arcadia is a great RPG. It was lighthearted and fun, while still having a deep story. I still have the original, but would be nice to see it come out for PSN/Live.
It has been fully translated. You can play with an emulator, or an actual saturn (which I prefer). The only requirement is that you own physical copies of all of the games, for obvious, legal reasons. The site only provides patch files, that require the actual disks.
I'm also playing through them for the 3rd time, and am doing a video playthrough on YouTube. I'm still on Scenario 1, but have a look if you're interested:
If they released SF3 for PSN, I would definitely buy it, even if it was only the first scenario, and I had no intention of playing the digital copy. I'd buy it, just to do my part, to support it. We need more games like this...badly...
Yep. I forgot that piece. I use an Action Replay 4-1 cart (allows you to play import games), an American Saturn (only modded to not know when the disc door is open), and the Saturn swap trick. It's pretty easy, actually. You can find instructions through the site I linked, and a little Google searching. Or, you can just emulate it.

2. House of the Dead
3. House of the Dead 2.
4. Clockwork Knights
5. Clockwork Knights 2.
6. Mr. Bones (Not a Sega game but it was a great Saturn title.)
7. Sega Swirl
8. Outtrigger
9. Seaman
10. Panzer Dragoon Saga
11. Alien Front Online
12. Crazy Taxi 2.
13. The Floigan Brothers
However, I would kill for ports of Daytona USA 2, Sega Rally, Sega Rally 2 and Scud Race with the same level of quality.
Also, Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zwei would be nice.
