ScrewAttack: "As a Resident Evil game I found RE6 lacking the core elements it needs to appease a horror fan base, but as it is essentially a good action game. It tries some unique things for third-person shooters, has elaborate enemies, explosive presentation, and a high replay value. The melee combat feels like a fresh approach, but completely removes the “survival-horror” element. I frankly feel too powerful. On top of that you have a lackluster inventory and weapon system, almost no Metroidvania gameplay, and an over-the-top aesthetic; I question if this isn’t a new IP that was shoe-horned into the Resident Evil brand."
