Can Medal of Honor Warfighter Stand Out?

Medal of Honor Warfighter is releasing at a very dangerous time. On October 23rd EA and developer Danger Close will release the fourteenth entry in the long-running Medal of Honor series, building upon the success of the Medal of Honor reboot from 2010. A few weeks later on November 13, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will release, and is expected to sell insanely well like all past entries in the franchise. The question really is: how can Medal Of Honor Warfighter stand up to the juggernaut and make itself shine in the shadow of Black Ops 2’s looming release? (Medal of Honor: Warfighter, PS3, Xbox 360)

I'm not trying to downplay the game as of now, but I just don't see the community lasting much longer than 8 to 12 months. I mean we've got Halo 4, Black Ops 2 and the impending Battlefield 4 on the horizon. Plus, I don't plan on diverting from Battlefield 3 just for MOH.

I feel like its a game that people are gonna play for a few months then move on to something else, leaving MOH to die out quickly just like the first one did.

The beta is pretty fun, but the game is ridiculously generic. I'll probably rent it myself.

I was thinking the same thing. I now think EA should look to drop MoH and just work on BF and make a new one every 2 or 3 years but in that time bring out the map packs ect like they have done with BF3 to keep people playing this game over that time.

EA should just stop in overall
glad they cancel their nba crap i hope more games do the same.

i hope they get bought
they destroyed too many good companies out there

Based on the beta it's fun, but nothing special. I was going to buy this and ac3 this month. But I decided to go with dishonored and ac3 instead. It just doesn't seem worth buying.

I was considering getting this game back in August put then i changed my mind. These two months are congested with great games and sadly i can only get two so am planning to get Farcry3 and Halo 4.

Its a shame MOH use to be a great franchise back in its PC hay-day (allied assault). But now its a generic shooter

Based on the Beta, it's too generic to stand out from the rest. It's not really doing any new or better than the rest to get recognized.

I loved the sound that was in the demo but I don't think there's enough there to pull me in.

Im personally gonna give this game a chance see whats been done since now this is all done in house and not split up into 2 development teams.

As for being generic well most of all fps this gen fall in there myself like to keep a open mind till full game arrives.

OF COURSE IT WILL STAND OUT.... the is fun as hell and will be even more fun when the actual game comes out.. the problem is TOO many CoD fanboys mask themselves as "game journalist" (IGN, etc.) dont give this game the exposure it deserves...

i liked the 2010 edition and this one will be just as fun....everything doesnt have to be just like CoD just to be playable....out of all the games i got CoD lag like crazy...still i will be getting this, AC3, BO2, PSASBR, and Farcry 3
