Has Valve Broken Counter Strike: Global Offensive Already?

From Strategyinformer.com: "Valve doesn’t want you to go to the toilet. Neither does it like the idea of you running downstairs for a drink. How about a change of scenery? Denied. Maybe a ten minute break to stretch your legs? No.

Anyone now playing Classic Competitive (i.e. Counter-Strike in its most enjoyable form (CS)) will find themselves tied to the server they’re in until the match is over. No leaving for a new map; no jumping into another friend’s game. You’re stuck; committed; chained up for thirty rounds with no escape.". (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I guess that's why they call it competitive mode. In theory it sounds good, you're there to stay, not drop in and out of games if you don't like the match. I have yet to play so I cannot comment of the actual execution, but I don't like my team-mates dropping and leaving me stranded.

Funny how after all of these years they still can't get matchmaking right that alleviates those who quit early and those who just want a fair and enjoyable match.

I can say the same about CoD. You would think that things would get fixed considering there's a new game every year, but people still "dashboard" (Xbox 360) while they're the host, causing games to black screen before sending everyone back to the lobby.

I have the game, theoretically it sounds great. But the amount of leavers just ruins it. It is brilliant when you get into an actual long match. So intense.

Just use the server browser.

I'm not really a fan of the matchmaking anyway. There's much more of a community feel if you find a couple of servers you like and get to know some other regulars.

"Classic" Counter Strike doesn't have match making.

Not much of a hardcore player if you're stuck for 30 rounds. 16 is fine for me ;)
