Borderlands 2’s Mechromancer Class Might Be Its Best Playable Character

Kotaku - Don't you just love having a pet?

In the first Borderlands you could satiate your need for a cuddly companion by playing as Mordecai, the sniper expert who was always accompanied by Bloodwing. Depending on the skill tree you chose, Bloodwing's abilities ranged from deadly to unfairly deadly. I went for unfairly deadly. It was awesome. (Borderlands 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I've taken a good look at The Mechromancer's Skilltree, but didn't like it at all.

The Skilltree did not feel special at all so I'll just stick with my LVL50 Commando, which in my opinion is the best Class to Solo with.

looooooove the commando. im level 40 with it right now, hoping to get to level 50 soon. im prob gonna start a new game with her though, i thought her skill tree was great. i personally will be going down the middle electric tree

I started with a Commando, and played for about 6 hours, but then changed to Zer0 as I like sniper rifles better, and his skill tree matched my play style more.

Looking forward to going back as the Commando in the future.

I agree the Mechromancer tree didn't immediately appeal to me; but I can't wait to at least give it a try.

What is nice is that Gearbox are not afraid to try something different - even if some people don't like it. I hope they decide on at least one more playable character that is just as radical.

Playing as zero, love that shotgun+melee combo.

I like that middle tree! Wish my siren had as much elemental focus. Itd be sweet if they added more characters!

I don't think people should worry about which is the best class if they're playing co-op, and here's why.

Every class is very useful in this game. It all depends on how your team is structured. If your co op members work as a unit, and you use the skill trees to benefit your team, then any character can be surprisingly useful.

But a character that is considered useful on solo can be considered useless if you're not using skill points to benefit your team.
