Hitman: Absolution Game Director Tore Blystad does not expect that this generation will end so quick as people this want.
I really don't want to end it this soon, but why are people so desperate to see the next thing?
Because they know there are better things out there. Current consoles are absolutely fine and developers are proving you don't need massive specs to make fantastic games, but people know that there ARE massive specs out there and that the longer Sony/Microsoft wait, the more likely it is that they're going to end up underwhelming. Square Enix and others have also commented on the fact that the length of this generation is having unexpected knock-on effects, such as long time developers turning to mobile development, so I suppose that's an important factor as well.
I think its all about when you bought your current gen console. I was an early in buying both consoles and to me it does feel like the end of this gen, I dont get wowed with graphics as much, and most of the games getting released I feel ive played them already. Dishonored didnt look as good as i thought, it plays pretty good though. X-COM on the other hand i was quite impressed with, you dont get turn based games as much anymore and as I am a big fan of games like advance wars its a welcome addition. I think after hitman, halo 4, and aliens cm, I will be truly finished with this gen unless they announce l4d3.
I hope not either. I am still loving my ps3. PS2 was different. The games didnt look as good or played as well so i got bored quick. I didnt really become a gamer until i got my ps3.
Well, that's good news for Nintendo. Hitman sold like garbage on GC or Wii. It'll be interesting to see what MS/Sony come up with in a sluggish market like this. From what I've heard MS is doing some revolutionizing things with its Kinect. But it won't mean diddly if they can't round up the software to back it up. I'm not a graphics fiend, otherwise I would PC. I really doubt next gen consoles will be capable of selling at a loss, but we are talking about multi-billion dollar corporations. Just keep the consoles from bricking, and they will be fine.
I agree with him. At first I thought that surely Sony and Microsoft would release their next console a year after the WiiU. But if the ps4/720 is really going to be this big leap in technology that everyone thinks than they are going to want to wait for as long as possible. The reason being that they need to keep their price down and if they release a new console soon with all this amazing technology in it, the console will be very expensive. If the PS3 taught Sony anything, it's that you can't release a console for $600 and expect it to sell extremely well. The reality is that people will not get a second job to buy your gaming console. However, asking $600 for an entertainment system is seen as reasonable. That's probably why Sony and Microsoft want to move in that direction. If developers are cautiously getting on board with the WiiU, then it will be 2 years before we see the truly amazing stuff on WiiU. The first year developers see how third party games sell and the second year they ramp up support for the WiiU is third party games sell well. Ultimately, whether we see the 720/ps4 next year or in 2015 depends on how much support the WiiU is getting and how well it is selling. The reality is the longer Sony and Microsoft delay the release of their next gen machines, the cheaper the price of those consoles will be and the better those consoles will sell.
nothing before 2016,u will see.
this generation is already dead for me. I switched back to game on pc , connected to a hdtv with an xbox gamepad last year.
