Dishonored Review | Gamer Limit

Gamer Limit: "After my first playthrough (which took around 6 hours), I felt a bit underwhelmed. As in I literally thought to myself - that was it? But then after going through a few more times, I realized how fun taking different paths could be." (Dishonored, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 7/10

This is seriously one of the worst reviews I have ever read, in 26 years of gaming. This guy is an insult to journalism and clearly only has a site so he can get games early and free.

I'll be clear, I don't care about the score. Its a 7, big deal, I couldn't care less. What bothers me is that this review explains virtually nothing about the game. There is no mention of the intricate world building, the fantasy setting, or the joy of sinking in to a fully fleshed out alternate reality and just watching it all go by, waiting for the opportunity to strike silently.

This guy moans because he has to make an effort to upgrade his powers. Would you rather they just handed you an AK47? He finished the game in 6 hours, so he clearly just hacked his way straight to the main objective in every level. Of course that is a valid way to play the game, but its certainly not the way to get the most from the experience.

Seriously, this review has wound me up so much! THIS is what is wrong with gaming today. Apathetic tosspots who want to be led through games by their nostrils, witnessing stuff rather than making things happen. Games like Dishonored are there to let you make your own fun. the satisfaction isn't to be found in WHAT you achieve, but HOW you achieve it.

I'm going for a shower to wash the disgrace of this review off me.... shudder.
