FTG writes- Happy Monday to you and yours, and happy Columbus Day! While most normal folks were out seeing Looper in the theaters this weekend, I got an advance copy of Arkane Studio’s damn stealth action masterpiece Dishonored . I locked myself in my mancave and put in some work; as someone who will reload back to the previous checkpoint upon being discovered in a stealth game, I found myself getting quite good with some of the opening sequences of Dishonored having repeated them over and over again. I also try to use non-lethal options over the “guns blazing” approach.
It’s a shame, really, that so few games have “borrowed” Dishonored’s Blink – in the right hands, such a power could be game-changing.
There was a small game called Aragami that “borrowed” the blink, that was a good game.
Unfortunately I heard the sequel wasn’t good so I stayed away from trying it out.
Dishonored's engaging lore, creative levels, and timeless gameplay are well worth revisiting for fans of the immersive sim and stealth genre.
