In today’s feature we’re looking at the major franchises within gaming and how they may be damaging new creativity and originality.
Somewhat. While games are getting expensive to make, developers rather not take risk and play it safe. However the indie developers thrive off this and are the ones that will keep innovating with new ideas. Plus it's the end of the console cycle so that also is a factor on the lack of innovation.
Not really. Like I said before, this gen is ending, and next gen is soon starting next month, with the Wii U. Most devs are probably making PS4/720 games now (it's stupid to think devs don't have access to next gen by now), and the games still being made this gen are to hold off next gen. Why innovate now, when you can wait just a little longer and have better technology and a new beginning to show off your new innovation?
Don't put Mario, in with them, at least they actually have a different genre and reinvent stuff for younger people I guess, instead`making sequels(there very few platformers nowadays).
Umm. No. It's just same ****, different generation. Some new IP's succeed while the rest fail. The difference is that right now and most like next generation, the industry has a much bigger audience to cater to.
