GameSpy - War of the Roses: Review in Progress

GameSpy - War of the Roses' early goings were a bit tough for me -- perhaps on account of the fact that I was embarrassingly terrible. I got battered, splattered, sliced, diced, and lanced by more hard-charging horsemen than I could count. The constant chaos of multiplayer's 64-person brawls was overwhelming. War of the Roses isn't, in other words, a Battlefield or Call of Duty, where you can go in and notch your first kill after learning the basics and firing off a few rounds, and there's no single-player campaign in which to learn the ropes. I don't think I legitimately dueled somebody one-on-one to death until I'd logged two or three hours of playtime. (PC, War of the Roses)
