ZombiU Preview - Parable

One of the most widely anticipated showings at the 2012 Eurogamer Expo was the new Nintendo Home Console, the Wii U. When unveiled it was met by equal scepticism and excitement by press and gamers alike, as the thought of the possibilities and at the same time limitations sparked debates across the internet. One of the largest titles to be announced for a launch release on the console is ZombiU, a survival horror title with a rather interesting twist: If you die your corpse will become one of the infected that you’ll have to fight at a later time. The Parable team was really interested to get a playtest of the game at the event, so below we’ve given our individual first impressions on the title. (Wii U, ZombiU)

Me too...after the disappointment that was RE6 I am ready to move on to a next Zombie title and hope Zombie U fills that void that RE4 left.

As long as this game does not focus on tank chases in mansions, bikes jumping over choppers and roofs and zombies that can fire AK47 then this is a Day 1 buy for me.

well zombieu is looking fine and everything but and i mean but it's unfair to compare it to the legendary Resi 4, resi 4 is one of the greatest games of all time, the void will never be closed

This game seems to go back to TRUE survival horror, can't wait. Now if only this was an mmo...zombieU 2 pleasssseeee.

I've had this idea in my head for a couple of years now, of an mmo type game where people have to work together to keep control of a dynamic world map that is constantly being taken over by zombies. Kind of like a huge game of capture and hold. Don't really care if zombies are AI or the 'opposite faction' you can choose upon creating your character.

It would have to be dark and even scary. Trade skills would actually mean something as people would have to go to someone to make even the most simple of items for them, like bandages or repairing weapons. Teamwork is essential, not like in most mmos now where you get a party of people and they just steamroll everything mindlessly.

As much as I love the idea of a zombie mmo I think it would be to hard to balance. But that's just one opinion from an avid mmo player.

If you want a zombie Mmo try Dayz or the WarZ thats comeing out sometime next year. ive played a Dayz its fun but i would wait for the version there releasing in december that dose not rely on a moded copy of arma 2.

as for ZombiU 2 they already said they have ideas for the next one and they are going to include multiplayer

While the concept and the gameplay look pretty interesting. I'm a little disappointed with the graphics. I'm not a graphic whore nor do I expect this to look like current PC games. Still though looking at that HD trailer the graphics seem second rate current gen. The hands, arms, and certain textures look very mediocre.

I'll keep an eye out for this game. I just would of liked for a flagship title like this specific to the Wii U to come out swinging at the very least giving us a glimpse into next gen power.

Hmm not to sure about this game... seems a little racist to me... killing all those white zombies and all. thats why i skipped res5 last time because of all the black zombies in africa /s
