Gaming as a Parent ain't easy. Here are some features that game developers should consider to help gaming dad's like me enjoy their products the same way everyone else does.
Improvements have been made to the stability of the game
I still think this release was a big waste of time. I would have been a day 1 purchaser if they had redone the game w RDR2 graphics. I still own my PS3 copy, so don't see the point in picking this up if it's minimally improved.
They should have released the game in its current state not the state it launched in. Obvious we all wanted this to be a expansion to rdr 2 given that the original map was already remade in the game lots of people though this was just going to be added in later as paid DLC.
Now the game runs at 4k 60 fps on ps5 and can be brought on sale it's actually worth playing.
At launch the game was priced far to high and was a ps360 era game that couldn't run at 60 fps.
I'm in no way a frame rate snob I defended games like tears of the kingdom in the past for being 30 fps experiences but rdr was a joke at launch
Red Dead Redemption II got an award for its continued support, despite barely receiving any updates since 2021
Troll /trōl/ verb
"fish by trailing a baited line along behind a boat.
gerund or present participle: trolling"
Example: Kotaku got trolled because they gobbled up the bait so quickly. They didn't pause and consider that the juicy bait might be a trap.
''.....while there’s fun and value to be had romping around Bethesda’s 1,000-planet-rich galaxy''
Did we play the same Starfield?
Do uh what’s up with Kotaku being so out of the mix like someone’s grandparent?
Earlier this week, Rockstar quietly added a 60fps toggle to Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 5. The game, which was released back in August for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, can be played on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility. And now, that little toggle gives PlayStation 5 users a new framerate to play around with while exploring the Wild West.
The Xbox Series console don’t run an actual port of the game. The consoles emulate and enhance the 360 version of RDR. The Series S and X could possibly use FPS boost to run RDR at 60 FPS with patching.
Werent they the ones that was boasting about having 60fps from MS BC infront of sony players now they whining
Wait what? Swear I read on here it was 4k upsced.and 60fps on series X.
What happened?
I'm a parent and I don't need any of the things on that last.
Time management, learn to use it.
Well it's good to hear that you have a method to keep gaming. This may not be for you, but I don't think I'm the only one who would use these.
3) Super Easy Mode
LOL
Some games actually have that such as Uncharted 2 and Bayonetta. But overall, regular Easy mode suffices.
Yeah true usualy easy or even normal is enough, I just hate that most games cant be platinumed without at least 2 playthroughs
All of these suggestions can be easily countered with "manage your time better". It is very easy to be able to raise your child right without sacrificing their happiness, their health, or what you enjoy.
One day, your wife does everything while you game all day. Another day in the week, the role is reversed; you do everything while she games all day or does whatever she wishes. On a weekend, have the child stay at a friend's all day for a sleep-over so you and the wife can game and do 'other things' all day. Or catch up on house work if needed.
We all have to grow up some day, but nobody who knows how to actually plan and manage their time would have any problem figuring out how to be more responsible without sacrificing a hobby they love.
