Sixth instalment of Resident Evil is arguably the most mainstream yet | Mirror review

This latest offering often feels like a reanimated corpse that’s not only devoid of brains – but soul too. (PC, PS3, Resident Evil 6, Xbox 360) 3/5

I don't think I've actually seen a decent review for re6 yet. Ouch, capcom. Not lookin good.

The PS3 version of Resi 6 has somehow got a pretty respectable 77 on metacritic.

Metacritic ain't that good a gauge on scores actually. I mean when I see 15 reviews one after the other with shit scores, I'm thinkin "capcom are shitting a brick".

Because Metacritic often doesn't include reviews in the ps3 section when the article mentions that they're playing the 360 version. As if they have massive differences and the reviews aren't interchangeable.

Mainstream = listening to casual gamers rather than hardcore fans, and analysing profit margins of other series rather than respecting the essence of your own.

Good going Capcom.

Re6 mainstream? Doubtful
Its hardcore through and through. Casual gamers will have a hard time playing this game on any difficulty above amateur. Ammo is sometimes scarce, health is even more rare and it takes a while to level up skills to where they become relevant (also changing skill sets during combat is no easy task)
People saying its no longer survival horror is BS.

Btw, i just finished three of four campaigns and im loving every minute of it. Best RE yet.
Keep it coming Capcom!

Well Tango Gameworks, if you are choosing a time to release a teaser trailer for your project and sweep up the horror fans, I would strike now.
