20 Character Launch Roster Confirmed for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
At the EB Expo tonight, Omar confirmed that the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale launch roster is indeed 20 characters. After much speculation and confusion among the internet, finally it is settled. Twenty characters is a good number.

I'm fine as well.(A little disappointed, but not raging or acting spoiled) I still do have a few questions for SuperBot. One is, will DLC characters have their own stories since each character in the game does.
They do not have a horror or rpg rep on disc, nor a ps vita character or a psp character. I think at the end of the day, they basically wanted to get all the core mechanics and features in the game. Then maybe they can apply all of that to DLC characters and stages.
This rabbit hole goes deep my fellow gamers. Anyone else have any idea what the whole someone like Crash would never be DLC thing was about? Plus, why would they have Sid Shuman post about this whole this before SuperBot themselves :/ Somethings I just don't understand. Plus what about the whole Paul Gale thing. Someone call the mystery gang!
Dagonit, Edit time went up. That comment about crash from DSN was more like Crash would never be paid DLC, he would be free. Welp, there goes my two bubs :?
The Best thing I can say is, keep giving feedback and suggestions to SuperBot :D They probably have had some of their team start on DLC depending on their schedule.
Well that is all I wanted to hear. Confirmation from Superbot themselves. It's not going to stop me from buying the game but I know it will disappoint a lot of people who were waiting for Crash, Spyro, Kat and Cloud. I personally am satisfied with the roster and number because I got basically everyone I wanted but this won't go heard without some type of backlash from Sony fans. Prepare yourself.
20 is a very very solid number, but the substance of those 20 isnt that great. Where is the Final Fantasy delegation? Crash? I really hope they make it into the game, and until then I am honestly not sure it is worth the purchase for me to only play as Jak, Good/Evil Cole, Drake, maybe Raiden.

The number of characters isn't the only thing to think about, I loved melee but a lot of characters copied each others movesets. Luigi and Dr. Mario were a lot like mario, young link was like link, marth and roy had the same moves, and so did ganondorf and cpt falcon.
Hopefully all the characters here will feel unique.

I hope Superbot make the characters look more alive, lifelike, put more smooth personality animations and move the cameras even closer

For PSABR, the character list stands right in the middle of the first 2 SSBs. I think that's a good launch line up for it's first time out the gate.
Hopefully all the characters here will feel unique.
