What Could Have Been: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

"With Resident Evil 6 currently making a quazi-permanent home in my Playstation 3, I couldn’t help but find myself reminiscing about seven months ago, when my excitement for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City drowned out all of the negative chatter about it." (PC, PS3, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Xbox 360)

I actually didn't mind playing this (as terrible as it was when it came out) but I feel like since the last few updates they killed the amount of zombies running around in multiplayer (effectively hurting those modes) and the single-player campaign was something that PS2 could have seen back in it's hay-day.

It had potential, and you would think they would have had the money/support to build a higher quality game, but they failed. Sure, some enjoy it, but after recently playing this game I feel pretty confident that I'll be trading it in ASAP. It's just so blah....

If I was Capcom I would have Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City made as in house project and created into a a separate avenue for those who like the action of the series.

Basically, the series would have played like this:

Resident Evil 5 (survival horror) / Resident Evil: The Fall Of Tricell (action shooter)

The same could have been treated to Resident Evil 6 to prevent mixed reviews.
