Visceral Games hiring devs with MOBA experience for "upcoming PC action title"

GAWD aren't there enough MOBA's already? blizzard and valve are both working on one, do other developpers really think they can do better?

I played MOBA and its not all that great to me, but maybe I just don't understand it.

I never got them either, but they're surely good games with all those people playing it religiously.
I tried playing the more popular ones, but I just get the impression that they're all about complaining about how unbalanced the opponent's character is.

You know what will happen; devs and publishers will be this genre into the ground b/c it became popular. Just like they did/are doing with FPS' and MMO's.

I'm so tired of cash-in games and I'm so tired of big pubs talking free-to-play.

EA and Ubisoft constantly running free-to-play into the ground as selling points does not make me excited for the forthcoming gen of games from big pubs. Especially since all of EA's F2P games right now are pay-to-win cash-ins. I ended up quitting them because I just couldn't keep buying up points to compete with the "rich kids" for all the booster bonuses, etc.

I imagine they'll do the same thing with their MOBA/DOTA clones.
I rather have an open world multi-player survivor horror game with next gen pc graphics. This is the 1,778,389th MOBA game.

They are all chasing the breakout and freakish success of league of Legends. They are BUSINESSES, they go where the money is.

(Un)fortunately, LoL and DOTA 2 have a massive headstart in content and players, I can't see how anyone else can catch up.

I get that they are trying to chase LoL's success, but can't they learn from what happenned with WoW: everyone making "clones" and nobody even getting close or having more that 6month of healthy subscriber base.

Maybe the free to play model helps getting people playing as most will give it a try if it has enough buzz. Still there are already 2 juggernaughts in the ring HoN having been kicked out, and blizzard is coming out with their own version. good luck to any developper trying to survive in this space, especially for non-f2p models
