Indie Game Magazine: 'GameMaker: Studio' Debuts On Steam's New App Store

For better or for worse, Valve Software really do seem to be maneuvering themselves into position as a cornerstone of the indie gaming business, and now they're getting right in on the ground floor. It's been known for some time that Steam was going to be expanding to support commercial software soon, and now it does - the very first app on the pile? YoYo Games' incredibly popular GameMaker Studio. (GameMaker: Studio, PC)

Game makers pretty nifty, I took a quick course on it in college and you can do some pretty amazing stuff. People were making top down RPGs, platformers, RTS, zombie survival, bullet hell, so on so forth. You can do just about anything with game maker if you set your mind to it. Not uncommon to get a full fledged 20minute long game going if you have a month and an artist to back you.

I love Software that allows me to create. This is awesome even if it's only just kind of good.
