The Future of Metal Gear Lies in Player Freedom, Says Kojima

Last week, Metal Gear Solid series creator, Hideo Kojima, spoke at British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), where he answered a number of questions regarding his thoughts on the past, present and future of videogames. Here is what Kojima had to say regarding his vision of an “ultimate” Metal Gear game.

because Kojima knows how to evolve a franchise without killing it's essence, he is the original creator and fully responsible for it, not under mandate from businessmen make decisions based on market charts and focus groups.

for example RE4 was a successful evolution because it was done by the original maker Shinji Mikami

Good. Every series should evolve and change, especially after being around for so long. As long as the quality is just as good.

Yeah. I want to be able to approach a stealth mission in a hundred ways. I want to have to think. But at the same time, they have to be careful.. I don't want "Ramboing" to be a viable strategy in the game. If you can shoot through all the enemies really easily, what would be the point in sneaking around?

Seriously? This is kojima we are talking about, the da vinci of video games.

If there is anyone I have faith in this industry it's kojima. He will always bring quality and I'm very happy he continues to lead the direction of mgs.
