Assassin’s Creed: The Plastic Series That Lost Me

"There is something about the Assassin’s Creed series that feels off, and I know that I can’t be the only one to feel that way. IMO, Revelations was a misstep. The story felt ancillary to the whole mythos and the setting was, personally, distracting and unimportant. It felt like a placeholder entry in the series.

I felt the same. I just played it for the sake of playing it. My guess is the real work was on AC3 and they just needed to buy a bit more time until they were ready to show it.

I think that Desmond should be a secondary character in all honesty. I didn't care about him in AC1, it's not like AC2 made that happen. I think that their original vision has morphed from a modern day Assassin finding out how t save the world by experiencing his ancestors past memories into just Assassin's throughout various locations and historical events. That's how I like it. The modern day story never really captivated me. I look forward to the end of it and want to see how everything plays out, but in the future I hope they just stick with random Assassin's in a different time period each time.
