GameDaily: Top 25 Greatest Nintendo Games

Chris Buffa & GameDaily Staff writes: What's number one? What didn't make the list? Are we insane? All these answers and more as we count down Nintendo's best games ever:

#25 Wii Sports (Wii)

Gamers will always remember Nintendo for the Marios, Metroids and Zeldas. Decades from now, however, Wii Sports may become the company's defining moment. A launch game for its Wii console, Wii Sports makes excellent use of the motion sensitive remote, allowing us to golf, play baseball and enjoy a few frames of bowling with friends. Most importantly, it introduced non-gamers to the joy that is, well, gaming.

#24 Mario Tennis (Nintendo 64)
#23 Animal Crossing Wild World (DS)
#22 Mario Kart DS (DS)
#21 Duck Hunt (NES)
#20 Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
#19 Donkey Kong (Arcade)
#18 Star Fox 64 (N64)
#17 The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
#16 Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising (DS)
#15 Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)
#14 WarioWare: Twisted! (GBA)
#13 Punch-Out!! (NES)
#12 F-Zero GX (GameCube)
#11 Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
#10 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GameCube)
#9 Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA)
#8 Super Metroid (NES)
#7 Super Mario 64 (N64)
#6 Goldeneye (N64)
#5 Super Mario World (SNES)
#4 Super Mario Bros. (NES)
#3 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

no.

Yes, Donkey Kong is a classic, but compared to Twilight Princess or Metroid Prime (any one), its nothing.

But it's the game that basically made nintendo, so it's important in that respects....

ocarina of time was one of those games that made me appritiate what nintendo was all about, not to mention star fox 64 and mario 64. the N64 was such a solid console, I cant believe the wii is a casual system, it makes me angry to see it has to end like that.

Nintendo has already released Prime 3, Twilight Princess, and Mario Galaxy, all of which have had amazing reviews, not to mention SSBB which is less than a month away. So what if Nintendo makes fun games like Wii Sports and Wii Fit for another audience you still have the hard-core franchises to come back to. You call the wii the end of nintendo? I call it a bright new beginning.

wtf are you talking about, with every nintendo console nintendo tried to reach this audience you people call "CASUAL".
With the Wii they just did it right.

Good call for the top game. I've been a gamer for 18 years now. I've played just about every major game on every platform, and smb3 is still my number 1 game of all time.
