The Indie Game HQ Interviews Mikolaj ‘Sos’ Kaminski Regarding ‘McPixel’

In the Indie Game HQ’s most recent interview we had the privilege to speak with with Sos Sosowski, the man behind McPixel. As many of you may know, McPixel was the first game to be released from Steam’s new Greenlight feature. You may have also seen ‘let’s plays’ by a few famous YouTubers such as Pewdiepie (Felix Kjellberg) and OMFGcata (Jesse Cox). Sos has also made quite a few other retro style games that you can check out here. (Indie, PC)

This game was a serious success story and it just really proves anyone can hit it big with a creative and fun title.

That's the glory of indie gaming. So many great ideas come from the indie guys these days that would have otherwise never been published.

It's kind of sad that he hasn't seen a substantial number of sales on Steam, but my theory is (because this is what I did) people heard about the game through greenlight, figured out it was already out on mobile devices and just downloaded it there before it was officially released on Steam.

True, but you have to also consider the amount of publicity McPixel received because of famous YouTubers. He may have not made a bunch of money from Steam, but I bet he's mad quite a bit from his website.
