Ray Muzyka backs fans up: 'Journalists speculating on ill-founded rumors should reassess approach'

DSOGaming writes: "Surprise surprise. Yesterday we posted an Editorial about whether we should blame fans for Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk’s decision to leave BioWare and the games industry. As we said, we believe that fans are not to be blamed as those are the ones that made this company what it is today. Fans had valid points about ME3 – and the latest BioWare titles – and Ray Muzyka is of the same opinion, as he revealed that fans speak with ‘deep‘ and ‘honest passion‘." (BioWare, Mass Effect 3, PC, PS3, Ray Muzyka, Wii U, Xbox 360)

The fans speak with passion while many so called journalist kiss publishers rear ends
Xof  +   1232d ago
So be part of the solution and stop calling them journalists.
da_2pacalypse  +   1232d ago
Yup!

And I called this as soon as this BS story broke out. I knew there was no truth to it, these guys probably retired because their company is now run by a bunch of greedy idiots that wouldn't know what an artistic piece of work is, even if it came up behind them and shoved its foot up their butts!

RIP Bioware.

I laughed at this, and felt a little stupid afterward.

Well played.

You are a gentleman and scholar.

These guys jumped ship its obvious they saw that the studio they build together was being corrupted/destroyed by EA's greed.

Had Bioware still been independent
-Dragonage 2 wouldve never launched as it was
-Mass effect 3 wouldnt have been such a clusterfuck, and no MP doesnt fit the story at all.

Everything EA touches turns to shit its like the hand of Midas except instead of gold you get shit.

Insomniac's vision: http://assets.sbnation.com/...

EA's generic GeoW clone vision: http://www.enizr.com/media/...
rpd123  +   1232d ago
Wow. The first looks so great and it'd be a unique style. The second looks like ass.
taquito  +   1232d ago
@majie

had bioware stayed independent, there would have never been mass effect 2, let alone 3, and part one would have been a way deeper rpg, probably pc only

dragon age origins was obviously never intended for consoles, ea just forced that shit on there and it was a disaster

bladurs gate 3 may have happened, incewind dale 3, something awesome

mass effect is a garbage franchise, 1 was a 7/10 at best, compared to icewind dale, neverwinter nights, baldurs gate, mass effect was a 2/10

You sir, are a fool.

Now EA is screwing over the Wii U with ME 3 SE while everyone else gets the Trilogy Collection a few weeks prior. To think I was going to buy it since I am unable to get the DLC on my PS3. Not anymore.
rpd123  +   1232d ago
Very true. I liked ME3 a lot, but I can't help but think that if EA hadn't forced the MP (why the hell would they think that would work for an RPG like ME?) and rushed the team, then it would have been the best game in the series.
Letros  +   1232d ago
Lol only EA could destroy a company and cause the co-founders to rage quit.
Yodagamer  +   1232d ago
Microsoft and Rare says hello :(

Well Rare was already disintegrating before MS even bought them, see Free Radical. Kind of a dumb acquisition.
vortis  +   1232d ago
LOL...I laughed at the thought of those two rage quitting at their desks and going FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU looking at EA's logo.

They probably flipped a few tables before they stormed out the building.

Thank you Ray, it is good to see you still have respect for us fans.

@NYC_Gamer

You mean like so many sites kiss Crapovisions ass every year?
wages of sin  +   1232d ago
Don't bite the hand that feeds you. It's as simple as that. It has nothing to do with respect--many of these so called "fans" don't even respect themselves.
RockmanII7  +   1232d ago
No, don't blame fans for someone leaving the company. Without fans, there would be no company to leave.
SageHonor  +   1232d ago
I'm glad he came out and confirmed this. Now those Journalist look stupid
jeeves86  +   1232d ago
As a hobby-journalist (read: I don't get paid), I try my best to avoid rumours and speculation. However when I do post them, I post them as such.

If it's a rumour, then state it as a rumour. If it's a speculation piece, then state it's a speculation piece. When you try to pass this stuff off as actual news, you not only discredit your name, but the site you write for too.
SolidGear3  +   1232d ago
Bubble up for you, sir!
Baka-akaB  +   1232d ago
It's wasnt just "journalists" jumping the shark ... some posters as well were trying to pass it up as the "whiners' fault"
vortis  +   1232d ago
I'm shocked IGN wasn't saying "You entitled whiners caused this"

if they did say so, can someone please provide a link, that would be like the ultimate nail in the coffin for them as the no.1 butt kissers of EA.
taquito  +   1232d ago
the kids that have only played mass effect and dragon age don't even know what bioware is, those are their WORST franchises

baldurs gate, icewindale and neverwinter nights crap on amything they have made this gen
