Joseph Dempsey:
Shortly after earning the title of “best game of the year” at the Game Developers Choice Awards 2012 in March, Bethesda announced Dawnguard, its first expansion pack for Skyrim, much to the delight of fans everywhere.
All, it seemed, was going well for Bethesda and its fans. Skyrim had been released to raving reviews, and gamers all across the world were busy clocking up hundreds of hours evolving their chosen characters.
I wasnt planning on buying the dlc anyway, ill wait for GOTY (like I did with Fallout)
So as long as its fixed by then, Ive still got trust in Bethseda, I cant wait for Fallout 4
Skyrim was a terrible game. Bugs, cliche story, bland world, boring combat, flawed levelling system, tedious dragon battles, fetch quests ect...
It makes me shudder to think of those out there foolish enough to buy into the internet hate. I've had so many great gaming experiences this gen that I would have completely missed out on if I had listened to the complainers online.
I'll buy Bethesda games any day of the week. They've given me hundreds of the best gaming hours this gen.
Just because I didn't experience problems doesn't change the fact that 1. a majority of users have, 2. the PS3 users got the short end of the stick and 3. even though I don't want the DLC the option for it isn't there because they don't know how to do their jobs.
This is not a developer worthy of my money, so I will be very careful with them in the future. Bethesda and Capcom are the 2 developers on my list.
But I didn't actually play the game until February.
I don't know what changed between launch and February, but I haven't experienced any problems.
Perhaps that's just me.
It should have been 12/12/12
One of the reasons was actually DLC. How can that even be a reason given that the lack of it is the issue currently...?
That being said, I do like all of Bethesda's games. So I'll just get them on PC instead.
1.Lied about ps3 performance and released an alpha game(even withheld review copies)
2. 7 patches that have done nothing to improve the game.
3. Silence regarding dlc (so dishonored sales won't hurt)
4 Constantly releasing bug filled games. No standards of quality.
Using the ps3 architecture as a cop out excuse when other open world games that are OPTIMIZED work fine. No crashes no lag.
They gave us an alpha stage game with NO testing and said "patch it later"
125 h on save , no problems, runs good, initial loading takes time though .
Overall had 4,5 freezes on loading total.
I dont know about dlc
I borrowed the game from a friend, it's from Fallout 3 that I decided to not buy any game from Bethesda. it showed to be the right decision.
kind of suck. The gameplay could ha e used a lot more polish. It might be the consoles more than anything though. But it is still a good game to immerse yourself in to kill time when there isnt anything else to play.
