'FIFA 13' Review: Another trophy-winning installment from EA | Digital Spy

Digital Spy: "When the teams hit the field and the game kicks off, there's little to choose between FIFA 13 and the latest PES. A wealth of online and offline game modes and a rich supply of extras, however, ensures that FIFA 13 picks up another trophy in the most closely contested virtual football season to date. Like a Manchester United team chasing its 20th league title or Gareth Bale charging at a frightened right back, EA Canada is showing no signs of slowing down in its pursuit of the perfect football sim." (FIFA 13, Xbox 360) 5/5

Wow could review sites stick their noses any further up EA's ass? It's not that fifa is a bad game however it does not deserve it's price tag. I've always scoffed at the people calling it Fifa 09.4 but for the first time in like ever, I'm really starting to question whether the game represents value for money.

The improvements are so minimal with them adding new features which only half work.. first touch in theory is great but in practice it's frustrating and not always realistic. The improvements to clubs like an Any filter and such don't work, 6 ft + ai defenders outpace smaller pros with 85 acceleration.

Referees are still extremely dodgy with so many of their foul decisions not to mention some very harsh yellow cards and sometimes even only giving a yellow.

The impact engine is still as iffy as ever with too many bundles and players running into each other. My first ever goal conceded in a h2h match was when ferdinand went to make a standing tackle and the tackling animation turned it into a perfect shot from around the penalty spot area into his own net.. the tackle shot was so perfect I thought it was a good finish by the striker.

Then finally the goalkeepers.. with long range shooting seemingly overpowered, everyone takes long range shots and the problem with this is that the keeper ALWAYS fumbles it and far too many times it fumbles right to the striker.. now this happens sometimes in real life but 9/10 when someone does a 20 yard shot, the keeper parries it over the bar.. you rarely see that in this game.

Overall, my criticisms might seem a little harsh but all of these were in Fifa 12 and should have been fixed considering they charge the same amount for this game as games with a far costlier and longer development cycle.

...and the review failed to mention that FIFA 13 is BROKEN and does not even WORK. Career mode and online, it's literally broken.
