Assassin's Creed 3 DLC will be a "what the f***" chunk of story

Assassin's Creed 3's DLC will contain a wacky extra slice of narrative best described as a "what the f***" side-story, the developer has revealed.

"We know that not everyone will buy it," Assassin's Creed 3 director Alex Hutchinson told us at Eurogamer Expo. "So it's a 'what the f***' chunk of story that, if you missed it, the next game will still make sense."

Doubtfull...sorry but with a story so complex as Assassins Creed every bit of info we've learnt about, small or big has been vital to understand the progressing story in future games.

It's basicaly...

"We don't want people getting p***y over the DLC so were going to make it look like it's not that important"

NewMonday4221d ago

hope it's like the RDR Undead Nightmare and inFamous's Festival of Blood, some of the best "off the record" expansions I played

iamnsuperman4221d ago

"And unlike some people we really don't start work on it until the game is finished. It is not on the disc"

But you cut part of the story and then released it as DLC (AC2)

rpd1234220d ago

I hear that's because they needed to make the release date. But I'm not sure I believe that bs.

kma2k4221d ago

I can say ive never bought a single piece of Assassins Creed DLC & have had no problem understanding any of the story thus far.

NewMonday4221d ago

only got the Ezio epilogue CG movie

it made me cry

kma2k4221d ago

oh yea forgot about that i did watch that, but i didnt pay for it lol :)

Jason_Tanner4221d ago

Yeah, you probably shouldn't be playing video games then.

Dovahkiin4221d ago

How it should be, you should never have to pay beyond retail price to experience the full story. Sadly this is not always the case.

rpd1234220d ago

Same. I also watched the Ezio epilogue, but like you didn't pay for it ;). I might buy all the DLC in preparation for AC3 though.

-Gespenst-4221d ago

The next game? So this basically confirms another game after III?

I'm betting it'll be the second game in a "Connor Trilogy".

vork774221d ago

i agree they did that with altair and ezio

RivetCityGhoul4221d ago

they never did that with altair only ezio.

vork774221d ago (Edited 4221d ago )

you must have never played Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles or bloodlines

RivetCityGhoul4220d ago

dude those aren't even in the main series those are just side stories that don't even matter. the main series is AC, ACII, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations, & ACIII. because if those matter then the Ezio trilogy is not a trilogy if you count discovery.

vork774220d ago (Edited 4220d ago )

if they was side storys they would have been a dlc on assassins creed but there not they are assassins creed sequels and your saying assassins creed story of Altaïr does not matter because Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles was the prequal and blood likes take place between Assassins creed 1 and II

They said they most likely weren't going to do a trilogy with the same character again because everyone was bored with Ezio by Revelations. But I wouldn't be surprised by a follow up game with Connor to be released next year to give them time to develop AC4. They'll probably also make another buffer game before AC4, but Alex Hutchinson said whether or not it would feature Connor depends on how much people like him. This is all speculation on my part, but it makes sense.

Lucretia4221d ago

And Yet no one flocks here to complain about dlc milking, but if it was Square, Namco, Capcom, or any other japanese company people would be quick to hate and complain.

lol oh man

kma2k4221d ago

sad to say thats because what pubslishers have been pushing for this gen is starting to happen, people are EXPECTING to get screwed by DLC!

Lucretia4221d ago

Yeah people expect it, but its been this way for ever already.

like when dragon age 2 launched with 50$ in day 1 dlc, no one complained, even though one of those pieces was a 25% unplayable character (golem)

yet god freaking forbid that Namco charged you for a set of angel wings in soulcalibur, dear god No!

LinLeigh4220d ago

Because Ubisoft is such a loved company. They never get hated on by the internet.

Games with the dumbest NPCs

Non-playable characters in certain games are meme material, thanks to their foolish behavior. These are the big-budget games with the dumbest NPCs.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

Every Bethesda game and Every Halo game. This list needed to have Cyberpunk somewhere.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK264d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

Rimeskeem264d ago

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

closed_account264d ago

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder264d ago (Edited 264d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188264d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer264d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle539d ago (Edited 539d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
