Killzone HD developers had to perform “software archeology” on original game

Killzone HD might seem like a natural evolution for many, but the team at Guerilla have had to dig deep in their cellars to reboot the game. Technical Director Michiel van der Leeuw and Senior Programmer Frank Compagner, who worked on the original title, spoke about the difficulty of hunting out old assets in a recent interview.

The story is too old to be commented.

I 'm one of the many Killzone fans wanting and hoping the original Killzone PS2 game would get the HD remastering treatment. As a game, it certainly has enough about it to be worth the effort and should prove a good 'play' to those who never got to try it.
Its an interesting insight into just what's required to make it happen.

Hopefully they "remaster" the shitty controls of the original. I bought this game day 1 when ppl were trying to hype it as a halo killer. Unfortunatelt it didn't come close due to but not limited to horrible controls and terrible frame rate. I'll give this hd version a go if those issues are fixed.

I've never played the game before, but I think I read somewhere that you could customize the controls in the first game.

The button lay out wasn't the real problem, it was just the way it felt which no amount of button switching could help
