Great news, Take your time with the game. Borderlands 2 will keep us busy for awhile
Reibooi  +   724d ago
Awesome. Would be great if they get it out within the first year or 2 of the next PS3 and Xbox so everyone can get their Borderlands fix early on in the new gen.

I'm loving Borderlands 2, but I'd rather see them make a new IP. Still, either way is fine. I'll be looking forward to Borderlands 3.

Awesome...

Hopefully the classes will be

Brick - Hopefuly he can dual wield this time

Mordecai - Maybe a new melee move like Zero

Lilith - She has more powers, she can teleport, use Phase blast quicker and liquify people. Phaselocked...sucked for solo players in B2 it felt like it was made for co-op with all the support skills Maya has. The Phaseblast skill was really useful in the first game.

Then maybe a new Soldier class, Axton or let the Mechromancer be in the game from the start.

I hope the old vault hunters will be back...in B2 the Angel made them seem like they wern't important anymore despite them now having good character development which made them more badass, and lets face it another Siren coming to Pandora when only 6 of them were created would seem far fetched, it's bad enough we've already met three.

I hope Maya, Axton, Salvador and Zero will be NPCs this time round to learn more about them.

Or a more logical prediction would be 4 all new characters since they've done that twice so far.
Reibooi  +   724d ago
To be honest I would rather 4 all new characters again with the characters from the last 2 as supporting storyline characters.

One of the things I liked about Borderlands 2 was how they took these characters who were basically just things that said a few funny quips and what not while playing them in the original game into genuine cool and interesting characters. They even went into the past of the new characters as well if you find the Echo's to learn about them.

But it would be cool to have them as supporting cast like the original characters were for BL2. It would help to grow the series so it wouldn't start to feel stale. At least from a storyline perspective.

Why would you guys want new characters...as I've said another Siren coming to Pandora would seem too far fetched since in the entire Borderlands universe only 6 were created, 3 have already been seen and they've all wound up on Pandora...I mean unless in Borderlands the Universe isn't that big of place I don;t see how another one would come or be close to the Planet or Pandora.

They've given the old vault hunters character development, time to switch them round now, let us play them again and give the new characters in this game some character development in the next game. Besides I'm pretty sure they can make the old vault hunters speak while were playing them

Was anyone confused that if you were playing Maya and you met Lilith there was no

"OMG...A SIREN...I FOUND ANOTHER SIREN" talk when the whole point Maya came to Pandora was to find out about Sirens and if there was more like her. Same with Lilith she came to Pandora to find another Siren and one is right in front of her...get what I mean

This is great news. I personally hated the first game. I thought it was the most overrated game this generation but I bought Borderlands 2 and I loved it. I thought it was an amazing game. I can't wait to play the third game in the series.
AboutLastNight5  +   724d ago
Haha well that's great! I love the games, I'm so enthralled with the sequel right now
vickers500  +   723d ago
Two each his own. I loved the first game, it's my favorite game this generation (well 2nd favorite now that I just finished Borderlands 2). Everybody has their dislike of popular franchises. I personally think the Uncharted series is extremely overrated.

Might I ask why you hated the first game? And why you like the second? The only reason I can see is that you either didn't give the first game a real chance and only played for like 10 or 15 levels, or you hated that there was little story to it. Because gameplay wise, both games are extremely similar, and the only HUGE differences between the two are the stories.

Haha exactly! This is super exciting that the game is on the drafting table already, but they can take as much time as they want...I'll gladly play Borderlands 2 for as long as possible.

Annualization.
Neo Nugget  +   724d ago
Obviously.
MattyG  +   724d ago
Nope. Not at all. Just because work on a game starts right after its predecessor does NOT mean that its being annualized. And besides, annualization isn't bad when done right. Look at the early Ratchet and Clank games and the Jak series.

vallencer  +   724d ago
Annualization is what COD does and unless Gearbox releases it next year and the year after and so on and so on then guess what?? It isn't an annual game.
stevenhiggster  +   724d ago
I'm fine with more of Borderlands.

Off topic: Anyone else get really annoyed by that really annoying Orange advert that comes up when you come to the site, I'm assuming it only affects UK users. Really annoying though!!
Megaton  +   724d ago
Obvious to anyone who has seen the ending of 2. Bring it on!

...in a couple years.
CalvinKlein  +   724d ago
should be awesome on the new consoles and it will use more of the PCs power too.

Borderlands 3? Fine by me!
maniacmayhem  +   724d ago
May I suggest a third person mode? I really don't see the point in having this game stay in first person.

MattyG  +   724d ago
The point is that's always how its been. I don't think they'll suddenly change it on the 3rd installment.
Carl_Shocker  +   724d ago
It's just an option...it won't hurt the game.

They were going to have it in the first game but they took it out. Sometimes it's nice to see your surroudings, especialy when it becomes too chaotic.
maniacmayhem  +   724d ago
That's not a good point at all. What is the signifigence of first person? Especially when it switches to first whenever you access your HUD or get into a vehicle.

And why not have a third person mode that's an options for players?
Darkspade  +   724d ago
All I can say is "Hells Yeah"
ziggurcat  +   724d ago
will buy.

loved the first one, loving the second one.

Hope we get melee weapons in B3
TheGOODKyle  +   724d ago
What is wrong with everyone in this comment section? He said o yea to the idea of Borderlands 3. He never said it was in the works.

As one of my friends put it

"Oh yeah we've got an idea for Borderlands 5" BORDERLANDS 5 CONFIRMED"
AboutLastNight5  +   724d ago
Lol I guess you never read the article or watched the interview, because he specifically talks about developing borderlands 3 ideas, and absolutely nothing about "officially confirmed."
GREW50ME  +   724d ago
I want to create a character from a template next time instead of just picking premade.

I got bored of 2 after 6hrs. Seemed like a one trick pony. I still dont know why there are so many guns if I end up raping with the same gun for 15 lvls. ?I need to give it another shot. Id like to see them think outside the box instead of spoon feeding us cod type sequels. 2 has some changes but overall its the same 1 trick pony for me.
CanadianTurtle  +   724d ago
And here I thought they'd at least start working on DLCs. But they're going all out on ideas about a sequel lol
ApolloTheBoss  +   724d ago
Hmm...Perhaps it will be on a new planet?
