The Mass Effect Trilogy Will Include 5 Discs, Premium Foil Box - Check Out The Full Package

Yesterday the Mass Effect Trilogy was announced for the Xbox 360 and PC for a November 6th release date, with a PS3 version coming later.

Mass Effect 2 & 3 uses 2 disc for the 360.

I believe the PS3 will have Mass Effect 1 through 3 on each disc if they go the 3 disc route.

EDIT: @ BringingTheThunder, I understand that and I said the same thing when I picked up the GOW Sega and that had 2 disc, when it should have had one. It's the Publishers/Developers choice, I guess.

Gow 3 was 35 gigs plus the 2 PS2 games and you're at the 50 gig limit. The ps3 version of this should be no more than one disc

So then why is the PC version as being advertised as 5 discs?

Also wondering about DLC. Not expecting all of ME3's to be in the collection, but are we looking at DLC codes? Will the extended cut still be a download or on a BR disc?

If you actually bought that collection, you'd know that it came on two discs. GOW 3 on one, and the ps2 games on the other. The PSP titles were download codes.

Sorry, The PC version also comes with 2 disc for ME2. Except one disc can be installed and you can play the full game off the other. I'm assume its the same for Mass Effect 3 and that is why the PC version has 5 disc.

Mass Effect is 1 disc and the other 2 games are 2 disc.

Love the Mass Effect univesr...I wish there was a machine that could erase certain memories from your brain - I would erase ever playing ME1 just so I can relive that awesomnes that the game gave me.

I hope so too. I have never played a Mass Effect game. Many of my friends said it wouldn't be as good without the first game, so I never bought ME2 or ME3. Now that they are releasing all three games in one package, I might just buy it now. I hope it's as good as everyone says.

ME1 is my fav game this gen. Had the best story and atmosphere of the trilogy. Does have problems though, I was able to easily overlook them in 2007 but some people may be disappointed since they'll be playing a 5yr old technically flawed game. Really hope the ps3 players love it as I do but I can see it not living up to the expectations most players will have considering it's reputation.

True. I'm excited! After playing ME2 on my PS3, I've always wanted to experience Sherperd's first adventure, particularly the history between him and Liara. That interactive ME1 comic just wasn't enough for me.

Bioware (and now EA) owns the IP for ME1. They can port it to whatever console they want.

Hell, the Trilogy could appear on WiiU.

I wonder whether EA give a damn (probably not) but considering the difference between ME2 on xbox to ps3 was quite noticeable, you'd think they would give the 360 the ps3 version also.

Don't they technically HAVE to release the upped version of ME2 on the 360 because of MSs clause they have about having multiplatform releases being equal with their release (as in any extra goodies or whatever MUST be put on the 360 or else no release support)?

It doesnt quite work like that. Basically if MGS4 were to go to the 360 it would have require some special content on the disc or something that makes it better. MS doesnt simply say "our version must be better no matter what". Sony has a similar agreement like when Bioshock released on PS3.

What i want to know is if they're going to fix the ridiculous problems ME2 on ps3 had which still havent been fixed like the audio being out of sync during cutscenes and the major drops in framerate. ME1 on the 360 has these problems but are much less noticable which makes me worry for the ps3 version.

But on the dlc side i would expect all the dlc (that has been released to date atleast for ME3) be included in the package.

Dont get ur hopes up people. They never announced a mass effect 1 on ps3 yet. I dont see how the ps3 would get special treatment judging how poor the devs did on the ps3 version. Also they will probably just bundle the comic book thing like when mass effect 2 released. So it will be the mass effect 1 comic, mass effect 2 and masseffect 3 bundle.

I read they said it was coming to ps3 later, presumably after they finish the port. Also that it would sell on the psn as a stand alone game for those who don't want to buy the package.

Pick this up 100% and you will not regret it...No matter what anyone says about ME3, there is no denying that the series is AAA and equally amazing. And you can actually see the improvements they've made from ME1 to ME3 (especially in regards to controls and powers).

I'm a proud owner of all 3 and enjoy them all, but I think I will always have a soft spot for ME2 =)

i think i mean seriously...ME2 only have sh!load of dlc's and takes kinda lot of space...u have 3 big dlc's,shadow broker,overlord and arrival,the costumes packs,2 characters and their loyalty missions...so i think thats why so many discs?

it would be epic fail if the trilogy dont includes the dlc's

I've actually got each ME and most of the DLC but this is great for anyone that missed out first time round.

I wish I could forget everything I know about ME and play through the whole trilogy from start to finish completely fresh. Awesome series.

1 for ME, 2 for ME2, and 2 for ME3. Bioware doesn't have anything to do with DVD9 sizes.

That's not a shock. But I wonder if the PS3 version will have only 3 discs even with all the DLC (if they include it).

I imagine even on Blu-Ray the games don't take up significantly more space than they would on 2 DVD9 discs. The assets are pretty much the same across the two builds. There should be plenty of room left over for the DLC...or they could offer a download code for it. I think the original ME2 game on PS3 had some of the DLC on the disc, with another code to download the backstory and a couple other things.

I agree. There was DLC on the disc for ME2 and being that the builds are both the same across both consoles I don't see any reason why not to include it on disc when the bluray should have a lot of space left compared to DVD9s. At the very least they should include download codes on both consoles.

It would be cool if the graphics of MASS EFFECT 1 for the ps3 would be REMASTERED from Bioware's graphic engine used for ME2 or better yet ME3.

Hopfully THIS is why the ps3's ME Trilogy release is being delayed.

I was hoping they would release ME2 on 360 in the same quality as the ps3 version. My brother sold his 360 version as he said the ps3 version was quite superior (updated engine??)

Can't wait to see the trophies for ME1. In all honesty, I havn't played the ME series yet. I was actually just thinking like yesterday that EA should make a ME trilogy, and hopefully a dead space trilogy set.

ME2 on PS3 used the same engine as ME3. I'm curious if ME1 will make the same jump.

That would be insane for anyone playing for the first time to experience them like that.

Thanks. Hopefully They fix both versions. The ps3 version of ME2 suffered more from framerate due to better alpha effects and higher graphical fidelity.

I highly doubt EA would take the time to touch the games up a bit, as they probably want a quick cash in on a good franchise towards the end of this generation.

I can't wait to get this trilogy. I'm wondering whether I should hold out on the PS3 version (I have a feeling it might come with extra DLC or something).

Well this is a nice treat for PS supporters since pt 1 was published by MS.. Theyre putting ME 1 on PSN as well so u dont need to rebuy the others if u have em..

Im so glad i gave up gaming on 360.. Swapping discs & having to install every one of them discs for games to keep the damn thing quiet sucked.. Plus i didnt like paying $60/yr just so i can play games that are meant for multiplayer.. Anyway, 1 disc for each game on PS3 is awesome.. i wonder if MS will use blu rays nx gen.. Wii u has 25GB proprietary discs & sony already has 50GB blu rays.. True nx gen games will prolly be between 30-40GB titles..

If you have (bizzarely) yet to experience this trilogy...this is an amazing purchase....it's a double coo for PS3 owners who never had the chance to play ME1...which is long overdue!

I myself already own 2&3 (digital purchases), so will prob pick up ME1 digitally too....
