360 and it's titles have to be the most coddled, pampered and protected products in the history of gaming. Anyone that gives the 360 or its games a negative review is immediately attacked by a legion of fanboys posting hateful,insulting and often profane posts at the website of said reviewer. IGN is the only one saying this everyone else is saying they both run at 60 fps so who am I to believe! I am not a Sony Fanboy so you know my answer. They also both received an 8.8 score so that makes it even more bull. The fact is IGN's review is an opinion just as this guys review is an opinion. Just because IGN is a more reputable source don't mean their review is law because it's not. The fact is all reviews are OPINIONS. So come on Sony Cryboys state something we don't know.

Fanboys will never agree, so they're irrelevant. I have both consoles and I've been looking for articles like this one that put both side by side. I'm leaning toward the 360 version, but I'm not sure I want to buy Live again to play online. Hopefully a few more of these pop up.

The Xbox 360 version has rumble in every controller ever made. I feel it would be lifeless playing a game 99% of the time you're bashing your car up or other cars or billboards and whatnot and not feel a thing. You would feel almost numb or paralyzed playing with out rumble.

The Xbox 360 version has achievements! This was genius of M$ adding Achievements to the Xbox 360. I have played through more games more times then on any other console in my life thanks to achievements. You defiantly get your moneys worth with the achievements added. They get you to do things you might have never thought of doing before in a game and help you finish a game that might be a little harder but you keep trying to beat it in insane mode to get that final achievement to show off to your friends.

Lol, that was fanboys aside? Im going with ps3 version because i heard it had a little better framerate (it was very slightly) otherwise they look the same. I wouldnt recommend getting live because of this game alone, even thou live is better than psn i have a hard time paying for something that so obvious should be free. So to ReBurn i can say it depends on what you want from the game, it looks the same on both console, ps3 has 2-3 more framerates per second, 360 has better online service if you are willing to pay. Go with the one that meets youre demands (But they are pretty much the same)

The article left those tidbits out that are huge to most gamers. Playing a game without rumble is like being numb all over. Take Rez HD for instance, that game you can turn on 4 other controllers and place them all over your body, under your feet, behind the back, as you play the game your whole body rumbles to the beat of the music and game play. It's amazing. It's called Trance Vibration!

I am sorry to every gamer that bought a PS3 and got shafted on that one and feel Sony should do a recall and give everyone a DS3 or at least have a trade in program giving them out at cost or something.

The PS3 is a good system and getting better but just not there yet, but they will defiantly be give M$ the run for the money soon enough. I am sure I will be picking up a PS3 when the price comes down, they bundle it with DS3 controllers, and there online gets a little better.

Well sorry if i missunderstod, it just seemed aimed to 360. And i do own both system and most of my multiplat games are on 360. But i personal do not miss rumble on my ps3 and this i believe is one of few games that works a little better on the ps3 because of smoother framerates. But as you mentioned Live is better than than Psn, but that in my oppinion is only because of ingame xmb.

And i think that ReBurn should buy the game on 360 if he feel it´s worth paying for online and have friends to play against online. But if he plays offline or online against random people i think he should go with ps3 version.

As usual PS3 fans always trying to make something when on their system seems like a big deal for example load times on Devil May Cry 4 on PS3 loads a couple seconds faster thats all they talked about now when its stated that Burnout Paradise loads faster on the 360 they try to downplay it. I've said it once and I'll say it again Sony fans can NEVER ever be satisfied!!!!!!!

Totally pointless article - why even bother with negligible comparisons (loading times in an open world game, graphics); and claiming one version is 'best' based on personal preference categories which may be different for every reader.

IF you own both consoles and need to decide (as I did) it comes down to other factors as I KNOW both games run flawlessly and look great.

After squaring away controls and online experience, it came down to this...

How loud the 360 is vs how quiet the PS3
Custom soundtracks on 360 vs in-game soundtrack on PS3

In the end the loss of custom soundtracks was outweighed by the quietness of the PS3 - so I went for the PS3 version (the location of both consoles to where I sit means the noise level is important - and the 360 is unacceptably loud in comparison).

For others who own both consoles it may be totally different factors which make them decide. But one thing I don't care about is someone else's personal preferences on things like control schemes!

Also how can the 360's online be offering be better than the PS3's. They both have seamless online which works perfectly - the difference is one only works if you pay for a Gold membership AND have a hard drive.

EDIT: Would the phantom disagree'er care to elaborate on why they disagree with my reasoning for why I bought the PS3 version???

Why did they claim that the Xbox 360 has better online functionality than the PS3 version? As far as the in-game menu's for online goes they are exactly the same and Criterion made them that way.

Also, people can't say that the Xbox version is better because it has friends list and everything because you CAN access the XMB in-game just by going to the Paradise city online menu and pressing the Triangle button. Your friends list comes up and you can sent messages, invites, chats, and whatever else.

The only thing the 360 version has that the PS3 doesn't is the ability to play custom tracks and that does not fall in to the "online" catagory. As for the controls? Your going to make a biased judgment based on which controller is more comfortable? hardly a reason to grade another consoles version.

Seriously, I'm sick of this flamebait pieces this and that "Microsoft owns GTA IV release" story are just examples of the fanboy crap that has been hindering this site for like...ever now.

The 360 version is better simply because I can play my own music streaming from my PC while driving. I can even reach over and skip songs using an IR remote while holding the wheel with my other hand.

I'd rather have white-hot knitting needles jammed into both ears than listen to that standard crappy urban music over and over again.

They (EGM) claim the PS3 loads in about 2 seconds where as the 360 takes 3-8 seconds. I know it's splitting hairs but...

Custom soundtracks? Big deal. I turn off the music and put my favorite CD in the stereo.

PS3 runs the game great as does the 360. All this comparing of what is basically the exact same game is just ridiculous. It is completely personal preference. I'm not sure why these sites keep trying to compare the two versions, then say that the two are "virtually identical except I like the blah, blah, blah on system A better." Who cares? Who the hell are you? Play it on the system you have and be happy they did such a great job with it! It's not like anyone with system A is going to run out and buy system B because of THIS game.

Every article out now cries about loading times on PS3. I don't care if I had to load the whole game on the HDD. It's always something though. Playstation can't win...first it was price, then no rumble, then no games, now everybody whines about loading. What a joke.

I have it for the PS3, and I love it. That said, I could agree about one thing I'd like to have, and that's background music. It works so well in Superstardust, which makes me wonder why they haven't added that.

But that's about it. PSN works great, I don't miss the rumble. If I would want it so badly I'd buy one from playasia.com. Controller? Well, I always loved the PS controller(s), I think the DS2/3 is the best released so far. Load times ? See above.

If you got both, PS3 and 360, I'd say the only criteria is Live vs PSN and where you're friends are. I don't need achievments, I play for the fun (I don't care). But if you do, then Live is the better option. If you want to play free, well, take PSN. The game plays essentially the same, AFAIS. So it really boils down to your personal taste.

This guy compared contorls to meaty hands.. haha he must be a chunker.. everyone I know prefers the ps3 controller.. As do i.. The Ls and Rs buttons are easier to hit.. While on xbox you cant hold the controller rite to hit all of them and feel comfortable at the same time.. Meaty hands hahaha what a way to settle sometimes.. and as far as online goes.. If you really care about getting the best version, I'd recommend the PS3 one. Better frame rate, free online, and you can play rumble with the Dual Shock 3. If you don't know which console to get and rumble is the only deciding factor, I suggest you simply wait for the PS3 to be bundled with the DS3 instead of making a rushed decision.
