Turok: Gamer Review - 'shamefully lacking'

Disappointing weapons aside, many of the ingredients of a standout title are present yet it sadly ends up being less than the sum of its parts. None of it is 'bad', per se, just shamefully lacking in all the wrong places.

Turok's awesome survival kills, be it with the one-button up-close knife attacks, or deadly silent Tek Bow, simply aren't used enough to shine. Many of the power weapons fail to come into play until the final showdown, in which you're up against one of the toughest enemies in the game, thus rendering all feeling of super power meaningless.

The dinosaurs too, whilst being a welcome change from the slaughter of faceless marines, fail to excite due their incredibly limited variety and, even though they'll attack Kane's men too given the right circumstances, you never really feel like you're in a three-way raging war.

The story is too old to be commented.
