Konami have just announced that they’re releasing a free playable demo for Silent Hill: Books of Memories for the PS Vita, tomorrow.
“The exclusive, single-player taster of the first Silent Hill title for the Sony handheld, features the first two zones from the game and a battle against the game’s Fire Boss,” says the press release.

@ SilentNegotiator. If you don't think it's bad then why the sarcasm? Lara becoming twin stick didn't destroy the adventure motif. So why should it destroy the survival motif of SH?
I don't like twin stick shooters. A lot of people don't like certain genres.
Do you need Mr. Rogers to explain that to you? Because this sounds more like the basic things that he teaches. "Some people don't like certain things. Do YOU like those certain things? We all like different things. And that's what makes us special"
"So why should it destroy the survival motif of SH?"

Ahhhh....that would be the MULTIPLAYER.
In multiplayer I don't think you'll be with your team mates at all times either, pretty sure I read somewhere that you'll have to split up for puzzles and whatever else, which obviously will make you feel less safe and more vulnerable...I also read that you're still going to need a flashlight for most of the game, which could make for some interesting gameplay when you're separated from your team mates...so I don't think this will be exactly like most dungeon crawlers, in fact if it's done right (hopefully) I think it will be the first of its kind...ever...as a horror dungeon crawler. (unless there's one out there that I've never heard of lol)
I dunno, maybe it's wishful thinking lol (in the way that I'm hoping multiplayer or singleplayer will be)
You can't have good scary sets with people all over the place (online) or making the camera vary zoom (offline).
It is FUNDAMENTALLY not a horror-friendly genre.
