Resident Evil 6 Demo Preview | GameGrin

Resident Evil 6 is almost here and fans, regardless of whether they own Dragon’s Dogma or not, have been given the chance to play individual sections from each of the game’s three initial campaigns thanks to a second demo released on September 18th. It’s fair to say that the reception of the previous demo was far from positive, so fans were understandably sceptical as to whether the overall game had been improved between then and now. Gameplay footage released since the first demo has hinted that Capcom has listened to feedback and fixed what was broken but now the opportunity has arisen for players to really see these changes on show, it’s not wrong to say that this demo has a lot riding on it. (PC, PS3, Resident Evil 6, Xbox 360)

This demo, without a doubt, showed me the Resident Evil I loved...is dead. The opportunity to make a truly amazing zombie survival horror game with that engine, yet, make this atrocious action movie is completely disheartening.

I love the Resident Evil games but there are major issues with this next one based on the demo. First off, there is not nearly enough ammo to use at all, and having to use the physical attacks so much because of low ammo get too repetitive and this veers away from the whole point of the games and gameplay. Also, the amount of controls added make it far less fun because yes you may be able to figure out combos but theres the trouble of there being too many. I get that theres a new branching off of physical movement and thats great but there is overkill, too the point that the game wasnt as exciting. As well as the fact that it is WAY to easy to get knocked down and that just gets on my nerves to the point I walked away from the tv, and no I didnt suck at it that bad just it really is almost everytime you get hit or shot.

I REALLY do love the smoothness of the combat and the graphics though thats a great upgrade, as is the strength of the weapons seeming better suited to the enemies.
