Monster Hunter 4 Hands-On Preview -- It's A Monster Mash | G4

G4: "Our first hands-on look with Monster Hunter 4 takes us through lush valley and barren wastelands. Equipped with a giant mace, we'll go an adventure and get a feel for the game's controls while whacking the crap out of some monsters." (3DS, Monster Hunter 4)

Hideous visuals. I'm sorry that looks worse than the PSP based on those screenshots.

by todays standards its dated & the textures look plain w bright colors but its the 3ds.. For what the 3ds is & what we've seen on it, this & revelations are the best looking games to me.. Its no home console or a vita but its good for what 3ds is capable of doing.. I wish more devs would build games with this kind of care for all systems.. I know Soul Sacrifice will annihilate this tho..

I think the visuals are fine. They are great where they need to be and ugly where no one would be actively paying attention during normal gameplay anyway.

The trade off is the more varied landscapes and smoother framer and animations. Which are far more important anyway in my book.

And if it's anything like mh3g then it will run consistently even in full 3d, which will also work to make the bad spots less noticeable.
