Rumor - Why Amazon wont sell Nintendo hardware products
The reason you might not be able to buy Nintendo hardware on Amazon is preferential treatment Nintendo is giving to Wal-Mart
(3DS, Nintendo DS, Wii, Wii U)
@vortis Why is it racist that he thinks it's funny imagining him saying that. I hate that every time something is said in regard to a person of color, it's "racist." Get off your soapbox. Hell, he (AWBrawler) didn't even get mad about it. lol
ANYWAY. This doesn't surprise me. WalMart seems to also give preferential treatment to the Xbox 360. The brick-and-mortar stores still have the advantage. I prefer using Amazon and online shopping but there are still a lot of consumers who prefer to purchase products at WalMart and the like.
@blumatt. Its amazing how easy it is to see someone that's racist on the internet. They instantly blame the other guy without question. Nothing new here.
As for the article. Amazon will sell it at some point. They are giving in to retail first for launch because of limited quantities. As the numbers go up so will the number of online retailers selling the WiiU. Just as other consoles have been sold this way. Its the cheapest way. I wouldn't doubt that Wal-Mart is trying to get deals going for them.
Its selling on all amazon stores but not on amazon-us.I wonder why.No they are not the world rulers like they think they are.Good for nintendo for not bending to them!
Are you serious? So Nintendo gives Wal-Mart preferential treatment and Amazon is just supposed to be cool with it?
Nintendo of America and Amazon are not not too far from each other (Nintendo being in Redmond and Amazon being South Lake Union). Maybe Nintendos dog pissed in Amazons yard? Nintendo pissing off such a large retailer isn't smart no matter how you look at it.
Yeah if you hunted them down they had some links where you could just buy the console. I went to hunt them down for you all but they removed the option to buy them from those links.:*( Sorry I couldn't be more help
I only buy cheap textbooks and video games downloads for my PC on amazon, and I buy everything else at stores with cash cuz I don't always trust giving away credit card info, but that is just me others use Amazon way more than I do.
There is almost nothing I wont buy on amazon. Great prices, fast and reliable shipping, excellent customer service. Never had any issues with them and I've bought games, almost exclusively, for 3 years. Plus its cheaper because of no tax and free shipping, and usually up to $5 off of retail.
If NOTHING else, its worth it just to avoid being asked, "would you like to preorder the new Call of Duty, only $5 down? No, then how about Halo 4? Ok then, what about GTA V? Are you sure? do you have our Rewards card? Oh well you should get it. Its only $15......blah blah blah"
This is the silliest most ridiculous nonsense I've ever heard of. Nintendo NOT doing business with Amazon is insane. Amazon is HUGE they are Walmart's #1 competitor and if Nintendo doesn't know that then they are seriously livin' in the past.
I understand that Nintendo was upset about Amazon sending back units, but this is 2012 and consumers don't put up with nonsense (much) and this is Amazon's policy. They should know who they do business with.
I'm a loyal Amazon customer, I haven't seen the inside of a retail store in like 15 years (when it comes to most things, including games). Amazon is poised to make Apple run for their money...
Im like really high right now! And for some reason I'm reading it in the voice of Brian(Jim Breuer)from Half Baked. When he goes on about Killers(Their Dog)passed life.
Amazon doesn't like the slim mark up on Nintendo hardware. It's the greed of Amazon that is entirely to blame for this situation. They're not happy with the same mark up given every other retailer, big box or online.
Reminds me of certain stores not wanting to sell the sega Saturn because it announced retail in only 4 select stores in the U.S which pissed off many other stores, which lead to it's demise.
I'm not saying that'll happen here with the Wii U.
I seriously feel like a dope now, I had the chance to pre-order it on Gamestop but I decided to wait for Amazon to list it, now this crap comes out. -_-
On important thing to remember is that Amazon couldn't get the Wii U in your hands on launch day anyway (since it launches on a Sunday). So, for most preorder fans, it is best to go with another retailer with a brick and mortar store and have the system day 1.
You're like that guy who says "Uh, I'm not racist. I have black people for friends."
Why is it racist that he thinks it's funny imagining him saying that. I hate that every time something is said in regard to a person of color, it's "racist."

Even though it is sold by other sellers, its still on the Amazon website.
So sad, but that's your opinion.

I order from there alot lol, especially when they have their typical 20-30% off deals every now and then.

Nintendo should get their ducks in a row.

Did Amazon SAY they weren't going to sell the Wii U stuff on their site? Is there a reason they stated for doing so?
And does this poster on IGN have any proof to his theory?
