CVG - FIFA 13 Review: EA Sports delivers once again... even if its first touch frustrates

CVG - FIFA 12 was meant to be the biggie: better collisions, tactical defending and precision dribbling. This year's FIFA 13 was meant to be a tiptoe in the same direction, a microscopic variation on a theme. And it is, apart from one small change - first touch control. It's key. (FIFA 13, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 9.1/10

I agree the whoile first-touch thing is extremely annoying....
....especially when you're playing the CPU who apparantly doesn't suffer from bad first touches. Not when it matters at least. Sure, when they're completely in the free with none of my players in sight, they might botch a first touch, slightly lose control only to immediately retain it again ofcourse....

... but it's annoying when the CPU seems to everything right, without any errors or hiccups when picking up long passess without any effort out of the sky before dribbling through 3 defenders and scoring a goal in the far corner....

... yet when I pass to a guy straight through, and he's all alone, all the time in the world, you even use L-trigger to control the 1st touch, etc etc, and THEN it still gets screwed up by a poor 1st touch in order for the CPU to get back in place and throw me off the ball...

... well.... it just reeks of scripting, it reeks of a cheating CPU, and it's infuriating, to say the least.

Scripting and a cheating CPU was already a problem in FIFA 12, and sadly it seems to still be present in the new game. You still get ridiculous penalties against you, you still have mediocre players dribbling through your defense, and if all else fails, your keeper will just misdirect a throw or a kick and put in straight into the feet of an opponent for an easy goal.

in my game they suffer from bad first touch.... and to me first touch is something that will grow on you after a while like everyother game when they introduce a new feature

it's more realistic though and it's needed in the game. Has been for a while.
