"Woah, they're already pumping out Yak' 5!?"
It's been in development for awhile actually, 2yrs(maybe 3).

When they first made the famitsu announcement / website unveiling back in May they said at the time 70% of the game was finished.

So hell yeah another Yakuza game!

morganfell1316d ago

Absolutely. The fights no longer have loaded arenas but instead, thanks to the new engine, occur right on the map. With 5 areas and an insane amount of side games this is going to be great. Y3 introduced pool and for me they did a better job than dedicated titles.

and this one will include a fully playable Virtua Fighter 2 and a new Boxcelios game on the Sega Arcades!

Y5 is really going to take advantage of the blu-ray packing it with content from left to right.

I hope this gets announced for a North American and European release soon. Yakuza is one of my favorite franchises.

Blastoise1316d ago

I'm sure it will. They do relatively well. Not exactly CoD numbers but they have a good following much like the Disgaea games

I hope so too I don't think I can do a one year wait for this one, I'm also taking consideration into Sega's financial troubles right now. God I wish I could give Sega money! They've been one of my favorite gaming companies since they came out with the Genesis (Megadrive) back in 1989!

nihonlight1316d ago

Whoa that's expensive. It's almost $90 U.S.

Whitefox7891315d ago

Thats how much games are in Japan, pricing is inflated over there. Thats why they put Region locking on Persona 4 Arena for the PS3 version in Japan since the western release was only a week away from the japan / asian release to prevent people in the asian territories importing it to save $30.

I'm from Japan and I never payed more than ¥7, 000
But that was 4 years ago still

Whitefox7891315d ago

Actually ¥8,800 yen transfers over to about $112 USD (¥1 JPY = ~$0.0128 USD), ¥7,000 yen transfers to around $90 USD.

Geez if this is true then whats with the increase in price? Is there some kind of premium bonus for Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 that we don't know about?

Would the term inflation be accurate to describe this? Maybe it might be more correct to say the USD is weaker than the JPY?

From what I've looked at 4 years ago today the Yen to USD transfer was ¥1 JPY = $0.009307 USD

So ¥7, 000 for you would've been roughly $65 USD

Correct me if I'm wrong.

nihonlight1315d ago

You're right. When I moved to the US I thought games were about the same. I'm not sure the reason for the price hike but even for that much I think it's a future telling of what next gen is expected to cost
