"It's definitely something that we're talking about at the studio." [OXM]

The point is Microsoft's Smartglass ;which they are big on that direction, is already/can be done by the WiiU.

FarCryLover1824234d ago

Yeah, but you have that backwards. They want people to think that you can do what the Wii-U does with a console they already have (by just buying a tablet).

Knight_Crawler4234d ago

@Fartcrylover- how do you know its not possible for smart to do what the Wii U tablet can or do it better - sure the Wii U tablet games will be designed to work with the tablets while the smart glass games will be optional but at the same times some tablets pack more punch that the Wii U tablet.

Also its a fact that atlease 75% of Americans and 65% of European own a tablet or a smart phone.

@Knight_Crawler

When comparing the gamepad to smart glass you gotta think about how the gamepad is all in one and smart glass is several different devices interacting with the TV. I'm not sure how smartglass will work but if your a fan of the possibilities of asymmetric gameplay (such as myself) than fumbling between 2 devices is far from ideal. Having it all on one piece of equipment will be more efficient if you ask me.

chanmasta4234d ago

Knight_Crawler, those facts are hilariously wrong. And take a look at the Wii U GamePad, then a tablet. Notice anything different? Actual controls, not just a touchscreen. That's a HUGE difference. Playing an FPS like N.O.V.A. 3 on my 4.65 Galaxy Nexus screen is cool, but you are kidding yourself if you think you can do it all without physical controls. That's what makes the $300 Wii U different to a whole console plus an big expensive tablet.

Knight_Crawler4234d ago

@CHANMASTA - Your 100% correct I take back my comment : )

I hate touch screen gaming.

Yeah but no 360 can send more than 2 480p images and despite tablets supporting hd res there are no gpgpu's or gpu's that support more than 480p when displaying 720p or 1080p on a tv at th same time so it comes down to the wiiu is built for zero lag which isnt possible on smartglass so fast fps games will work best on wiiu and there the big online favourites ?? Wiiu also has a quad core Power7 cpu with shared edram using Watson tech IBM's words again on Twitter so couple this with the souped up E6760 and you have a console that is leagues above 360,so graphics and raw power on wiiu make for more immersive experiences period and the gamepad is more developed.

mochachino4234d ago

You realize that you're touting the power superiority over 7 year old hardware.

This is like a 20 year bragging about being stronger than an 80 year old, just wait until the next Xbox releases. You really shouldn't rely on specs to assert superiority when in a year it will be painfully obvious how low Wii U specs are.

Wii U may be great but by no means is it at all impressive in terms of graphical power.

metroid324234d ago (Edited 4234d ago )

Also dont forget that with in say 6 months Nintendo have said games like fifa ect will get 2 Gamepad support so then what will smartglass do have 2 tablets yeah this set up is gonna cost at least £400 a controller hmmmmm Gamepad £100 an will get cheaper and cheaper ?

Moonman4234d ago

I wouldn't touch smartglass with a ten foot pole. Waste of time and money like most 360 add on ideas.

KMCROC4234d ago (Edited 4234d ago )

@chanmasta what if an accessories like say what the wikipad has is made universal for all tablets by a third party company , then what separates them.

Not all outdated football games are worthless

Games Asylum: "Outdated football games are a common sight when scouring jumble sales, car boots and charity shops for bargain price video games. Entire shelves filled with decade-old FIFA and PES games spread across a dozen formats. Often they end up in bargain bins, sitting alongside unwanted celebrity fitness DVDs and seemingly random TV show box sets. But here’s the thing. Not all football games gathering dust in the likes of Oxfam are in fact worthless."

Now Sonic Boom & Bayonetta 2 are being outsold by FIFA 13 Wii U

Just who is buying FIFA 13 on Wii U? We may never know, but there are more people buying that than there are Bayonetta 2 and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

Sonic Boom? welp, sucks to suck.
But, Bayonetta is a real shame

wonderfulmonkeyman3431d ago

Sonic Boom is riding off the popularity of the TV show; it's a bad game.

And as for FIFA?
Well, guess that goes to show that there's a lot of older gamers on Wii U that wanted FIFA, then; sports games generally do out-sell action games, and Platinum isn't known for large sales in the first place.

I'm not worried for Bayonetta. It'll hit that 1M mark by the middle of next year, surely, at its current pace.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3431d ago (Edited 3431d ago )

are seriously trying to downplay Bayonetta 2 with sales
