PlanetXbox - When the first Borderlands came out in late 2009 I picked it up without any expectations and found it to be one of the most surprisingly entertaining games I had ever played. The game design in regards to gameplay was ingenious; a first person shooter with a loot based reward system that constructed an addicting action experience. The loot grabbing is of course the bread and butter of the series. Basically you're dealing with a Diablo-esque system that sees weapons and items of various types and statistics that are constantly spilling out of the enemies you drop to the ground or the chests littered throughout the world. Until now, it was also my favorite game to play cooperatively.
