How Not To Review A Game

Josh Fernandes: As I wait for Borderlands 2 to be shipped to me from Gamefly, I decided to read some reviews. That's when I came across this review by Adam Najberg over at the Wall Street Journal. It is one of the laziest and ignorant reviews I have ever read. Let's dive in! (Borderlands 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Hands down... one of the worst reviews of all time

I swear to god my brain farted just trying to expel that excrement that some might call a review.

How on earth they managed to dig up my dead grandma and make her write a review is astonishing.

He praises Call of Duty for it's innovation for god's sake. How he got his job is beyond my understanding.

Really? That review is seriously just awful

I think what he means is that there'll be stiff competition, I tend to go with the general rule that you don't insult anyone else's writing, unless you really need to and grabbing hits isn't really on the important list.
^That bit is important - the guy who you're quoting is clearly an idiot. And my brain tingled with a painful sensation when I read his quotes.

The whole review is the worst load of nonsense I have ever read.

It's obvious to me that neither this guy nor his editor were qualified to write a professional game review.

The sad part is that he was probably paid a very tidy sum for that awful work, which demonstrated excellent use of Wikipedia combined with the intellectual ability of a third grader.

That review of the amazingly great BL2 was bad and the author should feel bad.

This reminds me of when you have an essay to do in school about something you dont have a clue about and you look up stuff on the web and basically copy and paste loads bits from here and there. In the end it sounds a lot like what this guy wrote.

Also reminds me of when Bart had to do a report on libya and basically says;
"The exports of Libya are numerous in amount. One thing they export is corn, or as the Indians call it, "maize". Another famous Indian was "Crazy Horse". In conclusion, Libya is a land of contrast. Thank you."

Nice article. Not too long, not too short. Had me hooked.

The reviewer is about as qualified to review games as my Mum is too sing in a death metal band (that is too say, NOT AT ALL).

Hilarious article, if you ever need convincing the human race is FACKED, then this is it......mind-blowing!!

Thanks to the author for a good read.
I hope the idiot that wrote this "review" didn't get paid.

This makes me sad. Just really, really sad. The team over at Gearbox made an excellent product, only to have this jackass use some of the comparisons and tropes that in NO WAY reflect their audience, and are the result of this lazy and ignorant fuck.

You realize the author is probably trolling the shit out of you people right? If the answer to that question is false then I assume the author is going to have a very hard time in the gaming world from now on.

Good article. I am glad he called out that guy. Lazy journalism should never be tolerated, no matter the subject being written about.

That's comedy gold right there haha. Someone should frame the actual review and send it to Randy Pitchfork. it will cheer him up no end.

And yet it seems to be the new standard.
