Wii U Chat - Why You Should Care

Can Nintendo get in-game chat done right? (Wii U)

LX-General-Kaos  +   1238d ago
If we are blessed with in game video chat with the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system, we are all in for a special treat. There will be nothing grander than besting someone in a multiplayer game (especially fighting) just to see the smug look on their face with the built in touch screen camera functions. One can only dream of said feature being available with the launch of the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system version of Tekken Tag 2.

Next generation is becoming more exciting as the days go by. I have to once again thank the hard workers at Microsoft for standardizing special features, and paving the road for Nintendo to follow and innovate within the online space with their very own magical touch.

Here is a video of another innovation that I hope releases to the consumer along with in game video chat. The functions and ideas that spawn from the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system tablet like controls seem endless at this point.

Paving the road? I'm pretty sure it's the other way around looking at Nintendo's track record of making consoles and motion-sensing features compared to Microsoft's.

When does the "innovate" part happen?

Isn't it odd that the only console right now that can do voice messages and voice chat properly is the Xbox 360? Even the original Xbox allowed you to send voice messages. It seems like such a rudimentary feature yet it hasn't been incorporated by others at all.

Well doesn't that make MS the innovators in that regard?

It would be ignorant to deny the innovations the Xbox brand has brought to online console gaming.

Xbox 360 was a pioneer in the fact that you could spend more time with your home console, without booting up a single game.

Nah they didn't do it for Nintendo.
